Unidentified Latin drifter 1510

Post by John Faulkner, Skegness » 11 May 2019 08:35

Trying the latest Jaguar e-Type Pro overnight and spotted an interesting Latin drifter, wandering happily between 1509.986 - 1509.996. Playing Latin music and lots of announcements by a woman or is it a man with a squeaky voice? I can't quite work it out. Maybe it's two different presenters.

I thought I heard "Monumental", then I thought I heard "Argentina", then ... I haven't a clue who it is. They are very echoey, that's for sure, which is spoiling the IDs. This ID sounded clearer and it doesn't sound like anything I have ever heard before.

I have an idea what the man is saying, but it is so echoey it's hard to tell.

I have the same station, but weaker.

My first thought on your recordind was "Radio Central", but...….

One for RealDX I think. Nothing has been reported on MW List so far this morning but it's probably too early. Somebody MUST have an ID on this.

I wonder if it's Radio Allegria, also from Arequipa.

I'm quite sure a "Radio Alegria" ID (male announcer) is heard at 13 seconds, followed by an announcement by a female announcer that sounds like "Viva Peru".

Thanks Matthias. Tomas Nilsson also answered my post on RealDX. He said he heard the same station and then the "Alegria Alegria" song soon afterwards.

Definitely Radio Alegria it would seem! :)
