UNID 891 kHz 28SEP2018 2157z

Post by Patrick73 » 29 Sep 2018 15:15

Hi there,

Last night, I came accross a very weak station I haven't managed to ID yet.
Received on 891.001 (accurate value within 1 Hz) at 2157z. Signal almost disappeared at TOH, but it seems no ID was given (still playing music). Nothing heard later on.
Language is unknown to me, as well as the R'nB / rap style song played after the woman's speech.

Airpsy HF+ & Wellbrook ALA1530LN loop.
Location : south-east France (JN35 grid square)

Link to the extract : https://vocaroo.com/i/s1hUKT1O86o8

Help much appreciated.

Bonjour Patrick,

A stretch of African English heard at 16sec: "thank you so much, we are going to [?] definitely" plus the type of music makes it very likely Lesotho's Ultimate Radio.

Watch out for false leads if you are looking for the station online. There is another Ultimate in Africa, not the same country.

For live listening Lesotho's Ultimate can be heard on the TWR South Africa remote receiver when it is working and not at full user capacity:

All the best.

I can just about make out "your independent station".

Wow, I can't believe I caught this one from my alpine location ... .
Thank you both for the help. Peter, I *think* I'm also hearing 'your independant station' at 14" and then what Brookman Spark mentionned.
