stations on 1670 and 1690

Post by Medcon » 26 Feb 2017 14:35

This station is probably WMGE but the ID at 05:58:50 sounds like WEGP or something like that

Here there is an ID on 05:59:00

Hope somebody recognizes it

Your first video is WTNI Biloxi MS. They announce all the station on their network. "1490 WXBD Biloxi, 1640 WTNI (spoken rapidly) Biloxi and FM W278CE 1035 The Champ and online at 1640thechamp.com" They frequently ID as "ESPN Radio."

I cannot ID your second station. There may be more than one option with this. I hear a CBS News jingle. I am fairly certain that WMLB Avondale Estates GA carry CBS News, but possibly so do WPTX Lexington Park NJ. WMLB is "CBS Voice Of The Arts" while WPTX is "CBS America's Best Music". I can't make out the speech before the news jingle.

JF has got good ears but the id is pretty clear for MF. Your hearing does deteriorate with age so important to use a good sound card and headphones. I use Beyer DT 770 Pro and Sennheiser Momentum on-ear 2.0 but any decent pair will do. The most important thing about headphones is that once you get to a decent price point (£50 for sake of argument) it's about how comfortable they are as you don't need perfect fidelity for MF.

Thank you Stuart for your reaction. I am now using a rather cheap Sennheisser HD201 over ear. I am using hearing aid in both ears so maybe i have to live with the fact that my hearing is not good anymore, I have to say that it works good the combination of hearing aid and over ear headphone.
I will look for a better headphone, always worth a try.
My soundcard does work well, i use a laptop with Dolby audio wich is adjustable.
