1410 - Very brief Latin announcement

Post by simbeav »

Does anybody have a better signal from this one ?

Unfortunately, I'm experiencing intense noise on many frequencies at the moment, but this came up very briefly between music.

1410 - 06:37'46 - 17/10/2020. I can't make out what he is saying.

I have the same station Simon. But there are two Spanish stations mixing here.

At the time of your recording, this is what I had: https://app.box.com/s/43f7rq97lb0svxrkt66s6nweee7wbtwd (Improved)

Slightly earlier, I had this: https://app.box.com/s/sgbxygtc64k019h5g3xen45kbsjyp4e8

Is that a mention of Chile in our recordings? I can't work it out. Plus I have to swap sidebands and reduce the bandwidth to minimise splatter.

Strange.

Although the announcers sound like the same OM, I'm hearing different things from your recording and mine.

Mine has horrible noise, so it could just be that, but on your first clip, am I hearing "en Valparaiso, Radio Amor" ? Or is it my imagination ?

Well, I really don't know now as I am hearing something different myself. If that's Radio Amor from Valparaiso then that's anew MW distance record for me. I do hear a fairly definite "Chile" in my second recording. I think I need to try to improve the audio quality of these recordings and send them to RealDX. I will check some more of my recording first, but I don't think there is much else to go on due to the brief reception of the signal.
