Re: Not a good morning to ...

Well, China is already reasonable for the time of day. Noted just after 1430. Urumqi is not really an indication of things to come, but it's a nice early start. (I pressed record this time!)

Not a good morning to ...

forget to press record.

Very quiet conditions overnight, though Asia was poor yesterday evening, apart from the usuals (including 1413 JOIF) at 2000.

How did you do?

Re: Radio Free Asia Taiwan

Hello Barry. There were four carriers visible on 1098 at 2000 on 23-10-17: 1097.9834 1097.9927 1097.9979 1098.0002 I cannot say which carrier belongs to which station, but Spain is in there and isn't one of the SRo5 transmitters still operational on 1098? Or maybe Iran owns the lower carrier. From m...

Re: MW Offsets Records

Sounds like it's drifting too on your recording.

I see three strong carriers on 909: 908.990; 909.000 and 909.008. Is the offending transmitter jumping above and below? Must say it's a bit of a mess.

Re: far east dead this evening?

No, probably it's the ionosphere which is not working well. Conditions blew out. I could just hear the time signal from HLAZ on 1566 at 1900. Nothing Far Eastern other than that (apart from Urumqi 1521 of course). My 1500 to 1800 was killed by noise so I don't know what happened at the time of the b...

Re: Unidentified Radio Maryja Relay Via Meteor Scatter

Thank you Zach. It was definitely the same church service, playing at exactly the same time. Radio Maryjas is not listed on 103.1. The only possibility would therefore seem to be Radio Katolickie Rodzina. If Radio Katolickie Rodzina do not carry this then perhaps a new, as yet unlisted transmitter f...

Unidentified Swedish Local Station Via Orionids

https://youtu.be/uzWfPnIIqAc

This PI appeared repeatedly on 107.0 in this session. I thought it was a rogue to begin with, but it was so consistent that I assume it must be genuine. Both PI detectors agree too. Does anybody know who this is?

Thanks.

Unidentified Radio Maryja Relay Via Meteor Scatter

I have what could be an unidentified relay of Radio Maryja on 103.1. Do Radio Katolickie Rodzina relay Radio Maryja? This was heard at 0518 on Sunday 22-10-17. If not a relay, I can say that the same prayers were heard on 103.1 and 107.2 (which had RDS: 3232 etc.) so maybe both stations were just ca...

The six pips would have been China. No doubt on the Radio Free Asia ID though.

Hopefully things stay quiet for this evening. Possible blow-out forecast late in the day.

Re: Radio Taiwan International

Surprised to hear this coming through my noise levels. Measured on 1556.998 here. (exactly .9976 according to Jaguar) Did you hear HLAZ 1566 at 1900 ?? VERY clear and above the Netherlands. You can hear a pan pipe version of Jambalaya after the time signal. Offset 1565.9993. Curiously, there was jus...

Re: Poland on Tropo 17 October 2017

So near and yet so far! I was just out of the picture on this one, but I was listening to a very weak signal from NDR Kultur from Helpterburg on 96.0 at 2006, close to the Polish border. This prompted me to look for Polish signals. I then saw the Rainham loggings on FM List and checked those frequen...

Re: German tropo 16 Oct 2017

Interesting Dave. No tropo here, but German and Dutch scatter has been very good. Nothing stable at all. Fluttery, weak, etc. but lots of it.

Edit: Actually, some of it is reaching RDS.
