Well, Norwich City did it! Apparently during the victory parade last Monday, their bus broke down!

Re: Es building 11th May

If you sort the listings by time, it seems the Es suddenly became tropo at 19:39, turned back to Es at 20:31, before rapidly turning to tropo again at 20:33!

Re: The Sports Thread

Just noticed that my local football team's East Anglian rivals, Ipswich Town, are at the bottom of the Championship whereas we (Norwich City) are top. Looks like we'll be Championship champions for the first time in 15 years IIRC (or division 1 as it may have been then).

Re: Who moved the start of spring?

I see the pollen index is already high, but my hayfever hasn't started yet. I think it started in mid-April last year.

Already had a hint of a suntan for about a month now!

Thanks for the info. It can only tune in 9kHz steps. That reminds me, though, that my dad's old Skoda could tune in 1kHz steps if you held the tune button down to put it into that particular mode.

I wouldn't expect to hear Toronto in the daytime though...

Here's a recording of the awful racket! When I first started recording, the noise suddenly stopped, but was back within about 30 seconds.

Re: No Noise Is Good Noise! (Medium Wave)

What does "I had a relatively medium wave" mean? :D Was that something I wrote? Maybe I posted, realised I had made a typo and edited my post. :) It's still there in the paragraph about tempting fate: "What surprises me even more is the fact that it was only a day ago that I mentione...

My ears are still being assaulted by the noise that has replaced Gruitniews (or however you spell it) on 1008. Someone else on here mentioned they hear it too. I think I'll upload a clip at some point.

Re: What have you found on 1008, now Flevoland has gone?

Can anyone else in Norwich/Norfolk (or anywhere else) hear an awful racket on this frequency? It's not constant but sounds like some sort of whiny test tone instead of local interference - I've heard the same noise at 2 locations about 4 miles apart. There seems to be speech buried in the noise - th...
