I saw a six way surge protected plug board in ASDA £3.

Fridge/Freezers are also bad for that kind of spike.

I am currently receiving France Musique 89.9 France Inter from Rennes at RDS level also France Musique 88.7 Lille quite weak.

Ireland is also quite strong.
