It was 29C here at 2.30 pm yesterday according to the car thermometer. It may have gone a little higher.

Re: Es 23/07/18

I missed some of this as we had to go out but what I did hear was some Balkans, some Greece (including En Lefko on 87.7 from Athens) and plenty of Italy. I left the tuner on 87.7 and did an unattended recording whilst we were out. It'll take a while before I catch up to see if there's anything inter...

Re: A couple of unlisted Algerians - any ideas please?

Thanks PFM907. I'm certain that I received Ouargla, as 92.1 was Radio Ouargla, as their web stream, and I have a recording of an ID, and of course it was in at the same time as 98.6. So the Chaîne 2 relay I had on 95.3 would also have been Ouargla. Chaîne 2 on 89.2 and Chaîne 3 on 95.3 were only in ...

A couple of unlisted Algerians - any ideas please?

During the Algerian opening this afternoon propagation was going quite a long way inland with Ouargla being logged here on 92.1, 95.3 and 98.6, a site in the Sahara Desert. Around this time I also had Chaîne 3 on 95.3, with a TOTH ID, and also Chaîne 2 on 89.2, strong but with no RDS. I don't know i...

Re: DX maps question

Paul, under 'Modes/Props' do you have Digital ticked? If so, that will show you the FT8 spots. I have it unticked as the analogue modes are more useful for me as an indicator for FM DX.

Could you post the recordings here too please? I'd be very interested to hear them, and I'm sure others would be too.

Back again after an absence of about 15-20 minutes. Pathetically weak but enough to confirm it is the same as Antena 3's web stream.

I think it's trying here too on 87.7. Very choppy, almost like MS, and also much more miss than hit.

Re: 87.7 CNR RNE2 in @ 1804

Better late than never: recordings of RNE Radio Clásica from Puerto del Rosario/Temejereque on Fuerteventura, at 2732 km. You can hear me going to the webstream too to confirm the ID. The second recording was using the 56 kHz IF bandwidth setting to minimise adjacent channel splatter from RDS Seixal...

Re: TA FM NOW **********

John's big Israeli opening was insane. Nick has bagged some bloody nice ones from down that way two, like Syria. I was talking to my GF today about it all, what a strange brilliant hobby we have. Thanks Paul. The best I have done with 100% confirmation was IRIB Radio Javan in Iran on 89.0 MHz in Ma...

Re: TA FM NOW **********

Interesting. That's less than the distance from here to Cyprus, e.g. BFBS Cyprus from Dhekelia is 3320 km from Whitchurch. Yeah but think about the number of times Dxers in Britain have heard the middle east in the last decade and then contrast with the rarity of a TA signal. That north atlantic pa...

I've just got home and watched the clip. Congratulations from me too. There are strong peaks on that recording.

Ooooh exciting stuff Paul! And I was only speaking to John earlier moaning about how rubbish the Es have been on Sunday, lol.

I eagerly await further developments.

Re: Spain

Interesting. I wondered as Paul Logan has the Canaries several times every season, and your location in SW Scotland isn't really that far away from him.
