Re: HS Publications D100 Box

Hi Pascal, I'm afraid I don't know the dimensions off hand and can't get to it to measure it at the moment. However it should be easy to work out the rod lengths as the active dipole rods are cut for 48Mhz and the passive one in front is cut to 82MHz, these are only approximate figures. The spacing ...

Re: HS Publications D100 Box

Hi Pascal, Yes with a Band 1 dipole you may still get Russian sporadic E signals this coming season until they switch off the network. Outside of Russia there isn't much left on band 1 now unless you are lucky enough to get some exotic stuff from Africa, Middle east or central/south America. D100's ...

Kiss 106.4 is often the first station to go into noise lately in tropo which is often first for many to pick up.
Yep its been stong all day here. BBC Norfolk 95.1 is good here too overpowering local pirate Kriss Radio. Normally 104.4 is my best freq for Norfolk.

Re: Analogue TV-DX logs from 1990/91

Wow 4x BB grids that was hardcore! I had 2 in my loft stacked facing ESE from 85 to 88 until I managed to persuade my parents to let me put one of them outside on a rotator... it was joined by a 6 element B3 a few months later. I had AFN Soesterburg A80 several times between 88 and 91, not all my tu...

Getting this at the moment noisy but listenable mono, not strong enough for RDS. Comes in best on horizontal beam. Playing 80s/90s pop Pet Shop Boys Wonder Stuff etc. IDed by jingles Assuming this is a pirate rather than an RSL?

Re: Absolute 105.2 Sutton Coldfield Changed to Greatest Hits

So the midlands looses its only FM rock station then, bugger! Not that Absolute was up to either of its predecessors but it was better than nothing... actually I take that back as prior to Kerrang et all 105.2 was a great tropo indicator with France Info Lille here most days.

That is a good possibility - but with a double notch filter you can slightly broaden the width of the null to remove the whole channel.
Agreed double notch is preferable especially so close to the TX

Re: Bread-board circuit construction any one?

The Ladybird Book - Making a Transistor Radio was my introduction to construction back in 1976. No soldering involved, just trapping wires and components under brass screws on a small wooden base, but it worked and taught the 10 year old me a lot! https://hackaday.com/2017/02/03/books-you-should-rea...

Re: Notch filter for 92.3 MHz?

As an alternative you could try Garry Smith at HS Publications. In their 2016 catalogue (the most recent one I have) they were selling one see details below; BAND II NOTCH FILTER NEW VARICAP-TUNED: 87.5-108MHz Single-pole varicap-tuned filter. The unit is dispatched to cover 87.5-108MHz approx. usin...
