Re: dx tips

Nick - well spotted! Yes it is "music of the North Star" - so obvious once you hear it!

Cheers

Re: dx tips

Seemed to be good to Mid West at 0600 in the Cabardes badlands. 700 WLW and 760 WJR both reasonable. John - your music station on 830 was coming in well as well. I recorded an ID but just can't make it out besides the "50,000 watts of power". Seems as though I can't attach a mp3 file here. I'll ping...

Re: dx tips

Good ID for WAXY South Miami FL on 790 at 0600 on 5 October. Here's a Jaguar tip for those that use the beast - I'm finding that switching to AM sometimes gives clearer audio for IDs - seems less artefacts than on ssb. Sometimes...

Re: 1206 - Any idea what this is ?

Maybe Radio Rodriguez Mauritius? Sounds like a man "rapping" in FF followed by some "normal" French and the words trente huit?

Re: Setting up the Perseus SDR for remote SDR / Network access.

To run your Perseus as a client and access other network Persii you need to have 8014 UDP open for inbound services. There's a document in the V4.1a distribution which explains this - "Client-Server Perseus Software Reference - EN02.pdf" Just keep it simple = open 8014 (ignore 8015) for udp/tcp inbo...

Re: Setting up the Perseus SDR for remote SDR / Network access.

When you open a port you normally have to specify tcp and/or udp. I have mine open for both on 8014 and I can listen to other Persii. This window is probably your firewall or AV application. If you have 8014 open to udp traffic and it is not working when you connect to a remote station then it is ei...

Re: Setting up the Perseus SDR for remote SDR / Network access.

Click top left blue button to access Network Settings.

Open port 8014 on router for tcp and udp traffic.

Re: Clutching At Straws: 15-09-17

Having just refreshed the wire on my BOG I am sure it will get worse!! My original wire had been in use for several years and it was patched in several places due to wind and critter induced breaks. Some nice green thicker wire is now down - wonder how long until the first break? The garrigue in the...

The poor MF conditions are due to the solar flares. We'll see better conditions once Autumn starts and the sun becomes a bit quieter.

Re: Unid 90 Mhz French ears needed

Actually the way I wrote it is perfectly correct. French is the main language spoken in Monaco. Andorra is Catalan speaking. Luxembourg is Luxembourgish. Most inhabitants of Andorra and Luxembourg can understand and speak French.

Re: Unid 90 Mhz French ears needed

Freewaymusic don't have dxers' ears!!

It's not Monoco, Andorra or Luxembourg and the latter two are not French speaking (despite everyone knowing FF.....). I don't think is is Belgium either.

Maybe help if one or two of our native French speakers had a listen, Ced?

I'm pretty sure it is not Alouette.

Are you 100% sure it was 90,0 MHz?

Re: Unid 90 Mhz French ears needed

This is approximately what I am hearing:

"Commencent-ils sont de la ville - en deux L"

This is not 100% correct at all. The beginning is hard to work out as well as the 3 letters at the end.

Re: great id

Good IDs for 1630 KKGM Fort Worth TX this morning at 0500. Conditions poorer than yesterday - only 0500 with any decent sigs here in the Cabardes badlands. Still good opportunity to give Jaguar v3.0 a run our. Audio is so much better than stock Perseus.
