Re: The Voice Of Peace

The Liverpool 87.5 outlet does change location from week to week; as its signal strength in West Wirral also varies from week to week. Some weeks it's not from pool city centre as I drove through and it faded whilst it was strong on the other side. IIRC a couple of weeks ago they mentioned 1386 whic...

930 kHz should be on the list as well - two Canucks and the Buffalo outlet regularly heard in the UK.

Re: The Voice Of Peace

Are you saying the only official MAR transmissions are on 105 MHz?

Re: Solar Cycle 25

"So does the current state of the solar cycle mean less SpE or more SpE?"

Nobody knows!!

2nd half of April skip to Benelux is probably Es. March it is probably the well known HF spring enhancement before the summer doldrums arrive once more.

Re: Solar Cycle 25

You'll probably find the march/april QSOs were F layer - that is not possible now yet given the cycle position.

Es are not dependent on the sun spot cycle though Es/F layer combinations are certainly possible.

Re: Solar Cycle 25

So the Sussex coast has had some pre-season Es and Scotland hasn't. Is this a surprise - it's what I would have expected.

The Es season starts 1 May - I would be surprised if last few months had not been quiet in Scotland lol

Re: What information do they see?

You must either delete all cookies or use a brand new browser - freshly downloaded (there are a lot of browsers out there).

A new browser with VPN should work unless they are reading MAC addresses - MAC address spoofing is possible but better done with Linux.

Re: What information do they see?

When you say proxy connection do you mean a VPN?

I would imagine they are picking up your IP address. It may be possible that they are picking up the MAC address of the router.

Only way to know is to go to a public library, friends house (or MacDonalds etc) and try there.

Re: DX-maps - a prediction

You get increased range with frequency with trops and Sp E. Tropo of over 1000 km is not unusual with a good opening on Band II and 2m. The Netherlands is generally too close to the populated parts of England for Sp E where the minimum range is 600-700 km. I have worked NW Scotland from London on 6m...

Re: DX-maps - a prediction

You got it the wrong way round. DXmaps is useless when there is no real Sp E due to the mode being misrepresented. Most FT8 contacts on 6m will be tropo enhancement or F layer related. When there is real Sp E then the real logs will swamp the MGM ones.

Well the 50 Mhz ones are FT8 and the 10m ones beacons as far as I can see.

Japanese FM band? Yep - but completely irrelevant in the UK lol

86.675 is a talkback frequency in the UK low business band.
