FMLIST Logmap --> where to point for DX?
I have an "experimental" feature on the FMLIST Logmap and I'd like to get your feedback. We all have the page running and updating itself, but it is not always possible to be active at the radio when SpE pops up. So I asked myself: Can the map indicate a) if I am in the right place to get some SpE n...

Re: TA FM NOW **********
Excellent Paul, congrats, you did it again!
Saint John's seems most likely - do you plan to put your log in myFM ?
I guess you would receive more TA if NL was as crowded with txers as the Middle East or Europe. The next strong txs up the dial in Saint John's are on 94.7 and 97.5.

While I have no reason to doubt what Tim writes, their website, Twitter and Facebook show no sign of a return to their former name. Their webstream is geoblocked on the Continent.

Re: PSB1 = BBC A, regional variants for TVLIST
Thanks Andy, the link is exactly what I was looking for.
I use DVBviewer (free version, http://www.dvbviewer.com/ ) - after a channel scan, you can export the station list to file (defaults to ini file extension), a small text file with all essential information.

PSB1 = BBC A, regional variants for TVLIST
I understand that the DTT multiplex BBC A exists in various variants, corrresponding to the BBC Regions below. OFCOM data shows which tx broadcasts which variant. But where can I find the service line-up of these vaiants? I have a London lineup and used this a basis for the others. But there will be...

Re: The Bee has rebranded as 2BR
While the two facebok pages have already been synchronized, Bee still displays its own web page and radio player page. Confusing!

Thanks Peter for reporting this. I've updated FMLIST, so that FM-DXers from abroad won't get puzzled.
96.3 has - as per OFCOM file - a RDS PS, but no PI code listed. Can anyone confirm if they are using RDS on that frequency?

Perhaps they carry different commercial spots on the two frequencies, and therefore split to a regional PI code?

Re: Perseus under Windows 7 - 32 bit or 64 bit OS?
Perseus itself is a 32 bit program so it will run on 32 bit. It will also run on 64 bit Windows (because MS makes this possible) but will not particularely benefit.

Re: DAB in Brighton at 192 kbps
Please try to get hold of a cheap USB stick that can receive DAB with DAB player software. In this way all technical details (much more than what is reported by OFCOM or Wohnort) can be dislayed.

Re: Algeria 97.8 - and others?
I was in contact with Samir a few days ago, and he told me that unfortunately he has no time anymore to update his site and FMLIST ALG. His website is still a gem, and his work for FMLIST was excellent! Anyhow, I would like to add all missing ALG stations to FMLIST, even without knowing the location...

DABLIST - help needed
The NOXON DAB Stick and similar USB devices based on the RTL2832 chip can be used to receive DAB, and also document what is on the air in DAB. While the original NOXON stick automatically writes a file when used with the Fraunhofer software, there is a nice alternative software: DAB-Player, a powerf...

Re: DAB meteor scatter and sporadic-E
I guess it will be difficult to get DAB signals via MS. A DAB receiver is broadband (1,5 MHz), and needs to receive this broad spectrum for a few seconds in stable quality. This is ok for tropo, but MS bursts will be too short and too weak. Also, not all frequencies within the 1,5 MHz range will pro...

Re: DAB Portables for DXing
Interesting review and comments! Here in Germany, portable devices branded Microspot have been quite popular, also for DXing, as they are pretty sensitive. One problem for DAB DXing is the bad selectivity, so if you have a strong local say on 10D, both 10C and 11A will be unusable, most rx only have...
