nice one Dave, i was called away before i could finish the files but Ireland was a surprise i missed this opening i think but i did record the 16/6/17 spectacular, i'll share band II files when i can get at them i've uploaded an OIRT file on here i think but it just sounds like normal e skip at that...

maybe we can find someone in a big city like NY who will do us an sdr recording of FM and/or 1710 am
i'd also quite like to experiment with decoding FM subcarrier audio


years ago someone made me a recording of 6mhz US pirates which was interesting, sadly i don't still have it

good info, tnx BP obviously the "stealing listeners" thing is a lie , i'm glad we don't have that rule over here (as far as i know) my idea of hell would be a totally sterile band with no surprises, i love going to london and tuning the pirates of course i sympathise with knob twiddler and his lack ...

Do ofcock work purely on complaints or do they cruise around all day df'ing pirates?

In the states the legal stations do the monitoring then the contact the FCC and say "station X is stealing our listeners"

Thanks, despite the instructions saying go as high as you can up the band for best swr on such a short aerial the unit is much happier lower down. Plus as you say I hadn't sufficiently considered the coverage of most radios I've settled on 1440 until the planned Danish station appears. Then I'll hop...
