Re: Dutch Pirate "3.5 Metre band" 76-87.5 mhz!

recording software crashed at 02:30 but the German 60 watter on 87.45 came in on one burst so i think its possible

i've requested a dx test between 0400 & 1000utc
thats the best time for meteor and extreme tropo scatter

good thinking re: weekends, i'll record then

Re: Dutch Pirate "3.5 Metre band" 76-87.5 mhz!

good news from the Dutch forum
"we are all horizontal polarized.
The most stations using 100 watt, and some stations 1kw or more with 9elm/11elm horizontal beams between 85.00 MHz and 87.10 MHz"

so powers are relatively high and polarisation is horizontal

I'm recording overnight tonight

Re: MS pings in the last 90min

we're doing a test recording overnight on 99.9 (the chat group compared our bands and settled on 99.9. if you have a strong local on 99.9 and wish to participate 106.4 is our second choice) if you can make IQ files then 192khz or wider is perfect for those unable to make IQ files, audio recordings a...

Re: MS pings in the last 90min

I’m having trouble with the elads clock
When playing back recordings the time is consistently 45 seconds slow at the top of the hour
I’ve repeatedly updated my pc clock but elad is unchanged

Ideally I need to solve this before our Listening exercise
So we can properly compare weak traces

Re: MS pings in the last 90min

Any aerial that receives well will be fine for meteor
You need raw gain, so use whatever gives the strongest signals.
The Aerials will need to be outside preferably on the roof

What times can you listen/record?

Re: Dutch Pirate "3.5 Metre band" 76-87.5 mhz!

I'm sure its possible, I've received very low power STL and studio talkback frequencies via e skip because the band is so clear in this range. it must be a popular band, aerials are available! https://www.innovantennas.com/en/shop-page/554/99/vhf-uhf-ham-radio-antennas/85mhz-86mhz-yagis/5el-85-5mhz-...
