Re: DX records

Hello guys, I apologise for late reply. First of all, many thanks for your input and I appreciate your personal DX logs. However, I was thinking about something "exclusive" shall we say? I think we will have to set some criteria whilst thinking about this project. There's a theory that the single-ho...

Re: DX records

Nick, Many thanks for your reply. This is a decent list that shows records of UKW-TVDX forum members, however, many DXers are not members of this forum. I remember Finish and Norwegian Dxers have great catches on FM and they should be exposed greatly. Don't forget about Belgian and Dutch Dxers. Also...

DX records

Hi guys, I was browsing the web and I have found this page of Australian DX records. http://home.iprimus.com.au/toddemslie/Aust_TVFM_distance_records.htm I don't know if it's still updated or not, but I was wondering if there is (was) similar website for European DXers? Would be nice to have an Euro...

Re: Goodbye Megane. Hello Picasso! But what is the radio?

Hi John, https://s14.postimg.org/u84pv01fj/2018_01_31_23_07_55_Greenshot.png I posted this screenshot in a different thread. You'll find on it NXP customers. Delphi is on top of the list. Of course, XDR tuner is obsolete and no longer available, so Delphi stereo has a newer tuner. Most of today's c...

Re: Goodbye Megane. Hello Picasso! But what is the radio?

Sorry for bringing this old thread up. Just had a look on eBay for C4 Grande Picasso car stereo and surprisingly they have put DELPHI units in this model. So if it's Delphi, then again, NXP Semiconductors is the maker of the chip (tuner).

Re: Could this be the next "Must Have" FM DX receiver?

Hi Nick, I am fairly sure that RBRX Encore uses NXP chipset. It might be a newer one, but it certainly NXP. NXP dynamic digital filtering, Sony's patented noise reduction technology and BW Broadcast's audio processing deliver analog FM stereo separation. BW Broadcast has added second tuner compatibi...

Re: Could this be the next "Must Have" FM DX receiver?

Hi Julius, If we're talking about conventional FM tuners, I believe nothing has changed in the last few years? Sony XDR series is probably still on top regarding selectivity. I can't speak about portables though. If you need maximum selectivity I would strongly advise a car stereo or an SDR, unless ...

Re: For demanding FM DX'er ... (18 bits ADC SDR)

My AirspyHF+ arrived today. It's a quite heavy device! 188g weight! Surprisingly Itead stated $10 on the custom declaration, so no customs either VAT costs. All in all, I end up paying £165 for everything.

Dense fog today. Hearing bits and pieces from Lille. Some local enhancement too, but that's about it. It looks like no decent tropo this Christmas.

Pretty much flat here too. The only French station I can hear is 95.6 France Music from Caen. Very weak though.

Re: Big Tropo?

Hi Andy,

I have a very high hopes about this high preasure front from Atlantic. At the moment, Thursday is the best day for UK, however, this coud be a long lasting tropo lift. Here is a picture that I have taken on Sunday BBC weather service. Fingers crossed!

Re: Tropo > SW Germany

It looks like the duct was situated very high in the troposphere (possibly just below ozone layer) makes it very hard to detect by sonda measurements. Therefore nothing was showing on the maps. This will also explain longer distances.

I've seen Leif video, but I am not a Linux user so everything looks very new to me. The whole idea, however, is fantastic! If only this software could get a better graphical interface it could be very useful.

When I was doing band scan, I heard more French signals then Brtish:) Obviously, there was tropo at that time.
