Re: Is this SpE reception been confirmed???

31-05-16 Maps.jpg This was the DX Maps Database Query for the relevant time period using the 6m band. There were some long-path Es, but not in the appropriate direction. So this does not back-up this reception, but also it cannot disprove it. Surely there would have been more Es in that direction o...

Wow! Who is "Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk QN16JX". What receiver and antenna was he using? He quotes his Maidenhead locator, so maybe a ham?

Re: Tom Taylor

Sad news. I don't remember the name, but I used to listen to EMR back in the 80s. Fond memories. In fact, it might have been the late 70s. I have a QSL card from them too.

Stunning! :) Well done on that one. Never a trace of it here, even when Asiatic conditions were good.

Re: The Conditions Thread

A couple of K6 overnight means that it's Goodbye North America for a few days, apart from the regular east coasters.

Yes. Let's hope so. The blow-out was brief (so far) so I hope it hasn't upset things too much.

Re: My first TA in Gran Canaria

You may find different North American stations coming through there, since you could receive transmitters with more southerly beam headings then here in the UK. I read a DXpedition report some years ago and there were stations logged which I had never seen logged in the UK. South America should be g...

Without looking at the video, I will guess 1560 WFME. Watch it be something completely unexpected.

Re: UNID Religious Daytimer 1510

Now THAT would be a REALLY nice catch. I wonder.

Whatever it was would have been a great catch. Possibly a UK first timer.

That's unusual. Keep a check on 1413 for that three tone time signal:

You can hear KBC Radio IDs in here too.

Re: 1350 IDs 0400 01-02-18

Thanks P.

That's the second time I've had that. 1350 is usually a mess of very weak signals. It's rare for anything to break through.

Re: 3x (far?) North East UNID

Keep a check on 594, 1350, 1278, 1413 and 1440 for Japan. These are the most frequently heard here, particularly 1278 and 1413. They tend to be down in the noise with me a lot of the time, but a few have very distinctive time signals. 1413 JOIF has a shrill, higher-pitched final (third) tone.

Wow! Plenty of speech in the third recording. This just isn't getting through to me. Maybe the greyline/darkness path just doesn't run in my favour at the moment.

Only a very weak Egypt on 819 here. However, at 1800: 738 China. V weak. 945 China. V weak. 972 HLCA Weak. 981 China. Weak. 1071 Rajkot, booming! 1134 HLKC Best I've ever heard it with clear ID! 1143 Taiwan Fisheries. Fair. 1359 Three Chinese transmitters, apparent by their echo. 1377 China good. 14...

Clear CKOC, etc. ID there Simon. Had that one myself at 0600. Same Id.

There was a "Fox Sports Trending ... Now!" ID after this. A different station?
