Re: A load of bollocks

Thanks Paul. I wear my heart on my sleeve and I probably do it way too much. However, as BT say in their commercials, it's good to talk. I believe that discussing these things can be helpful to some, therapeutic perhaps for others, because it makes us realise that we're all human and can all make mi...

Re: Indian Music 88.5 (Again)

I thought it was 88.5, but you might be right. I wasn't implying exotic DX, but it's interesting that I have heard Indian music down on this part of the band twice now.

Indian Music 88.5 (Again)

This is the second time I have heard this. Seems to be Es, but choppy. Mixing Rowridge.

Surely not India, but a new Indian language station in the Netherlands?

Audible on the V and H 9.2. Direction seems to be around 90 - 120 degrees.

Re: Allgreave , Western Edge of the Peak District 10/7/18

Excellent! I wish I could do more mobile DXing around the Wolds here. There are lots of excellent take-offs. The Lincolnshire Wolds are very picturesque and are regarded as similar to the Cotswolds. With approximately 60 x 20 miles in this stretch of the Wolds alone, there is plenty to play with. It...

Re: Allgreave , Western Edge of the Peak District 10/7/18

Fantastic! That is a gem of a location. I hope the pub grub is still as good as it used to be. Many happy visits over there when I lived in Nottinghamshire.

So East Coast Radio 96.2 has taken over from Lantern? Sorry, Heart Barnstaple? Ah, those were t' days.

Re: TA FM NOW **********

Monitoring the bottom of the band just now, I heard an Asian music station fade in on 88.3 via Es. I am beamed west. Probably nothing. Not even sure what the conditions are doing, but there are some 6m TA paths on DX Maps.

Stop hogging all the TA Paul ;) Seriously, well done again!

I will be keeping an eye on the maps a little more regularly now.

That's right. I wish I could remember all the detail, I would re-create that logging.

Thanks PFM.

This was an odd one. No other Swedish stations or even outlets of Sveriges Radio were audible at the time.

Re: Skegness Log: 2018-07-03 (Tropo: D)

All very interesting. Thank you PFM. Without checking the details now, I once received a 13 watt relay of NRK P1 from Norway. Other DXers in northern Germany and Holland received this. I did not believe it could be possible, so I did some research and contacted a member of NRK I know who is also a D...

Just for the record, these Italian signals were the strongest I have EVER heard from any sporadic E opening I have experienced.

Re: Mega Es > Italy

Good question. If arriving by two paths then the distance difference would be too short to produce an echo, so more than likely either a studio effect/error or two stations. Would need to hear a recording to be certain. There were lots of stations in that opening. But even with +60dB signals, nothin...

Tropo > N & NE Germany

Getting closer to the Polish border again. Lots of signals, but mostly very weak. Nice to receive Magdeburg and Berlin.

Tropo > Norway

Radio Lyngdal 107.1 is back. Very weak with phone-in.

The weaker 50 watt relay at Lista is also there on 104.2.

Good DX!

Re: Skegness Log: 2018-07-03 (Tropo: D)

So some of the Danish locals are using more power than listed? Is that because they are being naughty or because station lists are not updated?

Thanks.
