China and Taiwan on 1098 this evening

https://youtu.be/c_zIRuBxxR8

As my comments state: Poor Asiatic conditions here this evening after yesterday's geo-storm, so I was surprised to hear these two so well. A real Oriental takeover on 1098 with superb signals from Golmud and Kouhu.

Dutch MW Locals 1224

Since there has been some interest in these, I though I ought to report my reception of two Dutch signals on 1224 from a couple of evenings ago. They didn't identify, but I suspect one of them is Radio T Pot which recently moved from 747. One of the stations I received was playing Dutch music, the o...

Re: Hot 92.0, West Midlands

I've been watching some of Mark's videos lately. I had no idea it was the same person as "The Artist Taxi Driver". Here he is being cut down to size by the bbc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPpPc2E27aM They tried, anyway. No wonder our unbiased ( ) bbc want to get rid of him. It's freedom o...

Re: dx tip 21/9

Thanks David. 1242 wiped out 1250 this morning, which means I need to adjust my flag resistor. 06:00 isn't available to me down here yet. Fade-out is around 05:50. But ... I do have a tip of my own! 1490 WBAE Portland ME. YL ID 107.1 at 04:24:28 "More continuous .... easy favourites .... Portland .....

Re: Philippines in Skegness ....

I was lucky. I Am Radio faded in and out this evening. Conditions were obviously less favourable to the south-east, even from European signals. I only spotted this because I knew the DWUN carrier offset, which peaked VERY briefly just as I Am had been on a fade. Pure luck! What is interesting, as I ...

Simon:
The same thing here with the audio from the 1510 daytimer ... It only ever appears just before closedown, as if deliberately.

DaveB:
Congratulations! I knew you'd do it. You'll definitely be hearing more Asiatic DX along the way, noise permitting of course.

Re: The Conditions Thread

Lots of stuff just below the surface here. Oldies on 1480 (1479.9904) is probably WGVU. Best around 0230. WSAR dominant. Jim Bohannon and Westwood One on 1420 overnight, so probably WBSM. That religious station on 1510 is there again, slightly clearer than last night, but leaving no clues once again...

Re: The Conditions Thread

I tried to clean up your recording, but not a lot of improvement and nothing to go on. https://app.box.com/s/9o8dmdvsf5rp6781s90am6bcj9sitl5f I can just hear the station here, but not as clearly as you, if 'clearly' is the word. The same station pops up a few times though and I hope I can find an ID...

Re: Skegness Files: 2015-07-08 (Es: C SW & S Europe & Turkey)

I wish I had more time at the moment to go through these after yu have kindly identified some new stations for me.

Firstly, I was asked for the audio of my suspected Iranian reception on 87.6. I am trying to find that and upload a recording.

Re: Jaguar 4

Sounds good. It's good to keep the older versions, at least for a short while. I will be using the v4 AUTOSCAN permanently now. Probably too much juice for my laptop, so I may use v3.1 for that, unless I slow down the autoscan speed. Tests needed.

Re: The Conditions Thread

Improved North American conditions overnight. Decided to de-stress today and play radio. Some detailed notes after checking the band. 760 Is that religion on 760.0045? WCHP on high power overnight? 870 Probably WWL. Weak talk.870.9918. 960 Sports. Probably WEAV. 970 THREE stations just at audio leve...

Re: Jaguar 4

I am still getting used to Jaguar v4. Try AUTOSCAN, available from the "S" button, same location towards the bottom left. This replaces DAYSCAN and EXTENDED SCAN. There's also MONITOR and HOMESCAN in there, which I haven't used yet. I am running AUTOSCAN all the time, for 9 kHz Asiatic DX in the eve...

Two nights ago, 20C at midnight with high humidity is way too uncomfortable for sleeping. Bring on winter!

Nothing of interest noted from Asia yesterday evening.
