Re: Argentina 820

Yep. I spoke too soon. Noise now across MW. It's different to any I have seen so far.

Re: Argentina 820

Checking 820, I hear a Spanish male talker from 0100. It sounds like some kind of very laid-back commentary. A lot of gaps in the speech. I don't think I've ever been able to dig in on 820 like this before. What has gone off 819? Was it just that Egypt was not favoured by the conditions? Reception w...

Re: Argentina 820

By some bizarre fluke (which can't last, because it just CAN'T!) I have a very quiet band at the moment. It's not exactly super-clean band but I ave a 100% copy of 1520 WWKB which I am listening to now. It wasn't alone on the frequency either. This was virtually booming in between 0100 and 0400. Sti...

Re: Tropo > Denmark

Very nice! Interesting how the relatively short distance between us is making such a difference. No Dutch locals here at the moment. Are you receiving Denmark on 95.1, 97.2, 99.9, etc.?

Rangstrup breaking over BBC Norfolk on 95.1 Almost noise free on 97.2. Hope it builds!

Nice one! A bit of Denmark appearing now. Rangstrup only so far. Not quite noise free but it's stable. Will post an alert.

Re: Tropo NL

That doesn't sound Dutch on 107.9. The usual Dutch station there is VBRO. They play Dutch music, so it's not them.

Re: Madeira 88.4 / 94.1 @ 1745

I was thinking the same thing this evening when driving home from Burgh-Le-Marsh. The entire journey (3 km!) had Setif FM sat on 90.4, not fading for one moment. This has happened on at least three occasions. I monitor 90.4 for Klara from Egem. Weird though when you can't hear your nearest overseas ...

Re: A load of bollocks

Thanks Paul. I wear my heart on my sleeve and I probably do it way too much. However, as BT say in their commercials, it's good to talk. I believe that discussing these things can be helpful to some, therapeutic perhaps for others, because it makes us realise that we're all human and can all make mi...

Re: Indian Music 88.5 (Again)

I thought it was 88.5, but you might be right. I wasn't implying exotic DX, but it's interesting that I have heard Indian music down on this part of the band twice now.

Indian Music 88.5 (Again)

This is the second time I have heard this. Seems to be Es, but choppy. Mixing Rowridge.

Surely not India, but a new Indian language station in the Netherlands?

Audible on the V and H 9.2. Direction seems to be around 90 - 120 degrees.

Re: Allgreave , Western Edge of the Peak District 10/7/18

Excellent! I wish I could do more mobile DXing around the Wolds here. There are lots of excellent take-offs. The Lincolnshire Wolds are very picturesque and are regarded as similar to the Cotswolds. With approximately 60 x 20 miles in this stretch of the Wolds alone, there is plenty to play with. It...

Fantastic! That is a gem of a location. I hope the pub grub is still as good as it used to be. Many happy visits over there when I lived in Nottinghamshire.

So East Coast Radio 96.2 has taken over from Lantern? Sorry, Heart Barnstaple? Ah, those were t' days.

Re: TA FM NOW **********

Monitoring the bottom of the band just now, I heard an Asian music station fade in on 88.3 via Es. I am beamed west. Probably nothing. Not even sure what the conditions are doing, but there are some 6m TA paths on DX Maps.

That's right. I wish I could remember all the detail, I would re-create that logging.
