Es > Spain & Italy + Middle East Potential

A solitary Spanish station just hit 88.0 - GANSTAFM from Alcorcon. Never had this before. Yet barely anything else. A few minutes a go, a very short-lived opening to the Middle East. Italy was present to begin with, then it faded and I imagine there was a link-up to tthe Es cloud over the Black Sea ...

Re: This year it's strawberry jam

Very nice Dave. I was thinking about trying to grow something in my garden this year. Maybe vegetables, but I hate gardening of any kind. The most I've done this summer is cut the grass and trim my bushes. We grew some strawberries a few years ago and I still have the strawberry tub. But it ...

Re: Machynys peninsula 6/2018

What an excellent location! Nice to see the French low powers in your bandscan.

You have inspired me. If I can afford it (highly unlikely) I would love to arrange a camping trip to Land's End later in the year if tropo conditions get good to Spain/Portugal.

After receiving Brittany a couple of days ago, I too had expected there might be something on the horizon, but nothing so far. Brittany is lacking this morning.

That's 10 metres taller than our own Emley Moor mast, which, in turn, is ten metres taller than the Eiffel Tower! You never know if you'll get a question about this in a pub quiz!

Re: Unid from 15 Jun 2018 - reposted

The main music at the beginning is this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPCzZuMR8eY Some of the YouTube links, including this one, refer to "Kral" and "KralPop". I see there are several outlets of this station on 92.0. Kirklareli-Demirköy and Istanbul are the higher powered ones. A total long-s...

Re: TRT FM 92.0, but which site?

I think this one is fairly well nailed then. Since I can rule out TGRT FM, this is almost certainly going to be Mugla. As you say, the first two are off-beam slightly and definitely unlikely due to the power. Kersehir is also slightly off-beam and Mugla ticks all the proverbial boxes. Mugla comes in...

Re: TRT FM 92.0, but which site?

Thanks Nick. Not knowing anything about Turkish broadcasters, I cannot be certain. With Izmir being received at that time it adds a small question mark. You're probably right. The website doesn't seem to have a programme schedule.

Maybe Kurt can confirm, just to be certain.

TRT FM 92.0, but which site?

I received TRT FM on 92.0 during yesterday evening's Turkish opening. I have been trying to narrow down the site and I attach a map of the four suspects, shown with the red dots. turkey 2.jpg You can see the other sites I received at this time, so my guess would be Mugla, which is in the firing line...

Send us your naked photos!

I thought that would get some attention! This article from my favourite organisation, the always lying, covering up bbc published an article about revenge porn. Once again, we are relying on automated recognition systems. What could possibly go wrong?  https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/newsbeat...

Several Turkish stations at the bottom of the band a few minutes ago. Quite a widespread area too!

It's still hovering.

Re: b2 open spain

Absolutely. No disrespect to Spain and the Spanish. I love Spain and have visited twice, but Spain is my least favourite European country to DX. It's always the same old stations. The only time I can summon the enthusiasm to DX Spain is when conditions are open to the top of the band and I can rotat...

Heavy duty 110 amp hours, made by Leisure Giant, whoever they are. I guess this is the modern version of it. https://advancedbatterysupplies.co.uk/product/advanced-sl-110-leisure- battery/ I've had it a few years now. Still works fine. Regularly re-charged. Looks like it's come down in price too. Co...

Good one! My plan is to try Beveraging it for African MW DX at a spot just outside town. My leisure battery is fully charged and ready to go. Just waiting for the right conditions.
