Re: Tuesday 17th April looks good on Hepburn

NH Radio, Wieringerwerf 11kW. This used to be called Radio Noord Holland. Nice signal!.

Virtually all continental tropo has gone here at 00:45 am, with the exception of Lille. Picking up a lot of Midlands tropo now off the back of the antenna.

Suffolk enhanced too.

Re: 1and1 Internet

Further to my 1and1 situation, many (most?) emails are not getting through. Messages in my spam folders (Thunderbird) are now hidden (I think these are controlled at the server end) and some of my email addresses are not working. I guess the reason they so boldly stated that I had changed my passwor...

Re: What information do they see?

Thanks Stuart and Noel.

I have actually tried a new browser, called UC Browser. But still no joy.

When I do my next Windows re-install (the time for which is just about nigh.) I will do all these things.

I use CCleaner too.

Re: Tuesday 17th April looks good on Hepburn

At last, tropo is trying to start, with Dutch powerhouses enhanced. Lille and Tournai are also up, but nothing major so far.

Ah! Thanks Chris.

I just took a swing around and the Midlands is up here! Wenvoe slightly too. Heart 102.3 stable but weak.

Re: What information do they see?

Yes. I am sure you are spot on there. Thanks for the info. I have the paid version of CyberGhost and it hasn't helped one bit. It doesn't present any problems logging in to other sites though, i.e. those which will alert me to a new IP logging in to my account. So that makes me wonder if my actual I...

Re: Tuesday 17th April looks good on Hepburn

Still just the usual scatter here. The humidity will kill off any likelihood of tropo for now.

What information do they see?

I asked this question on another forum and got shot down in flames. So I'll ask here as I don't think that will happen (He hopes ;)) ------------------------------------------------------------------ I am trying to create an account with an online sales platform on which I have been banned, through ...

Re: DX-maps - a prediction

The lines can be blurred when we look at the various propagation modes. Some of it is relatively straight-forward, as with Es, or F2, but it's not difficult to confuse troposcatter and aircraft scatter. There's ionoscatter too, which potentially blurs the lines even more. The old Grunten transmitter...

Re: Tuesday 17th April looks good on Hepburn

Well, you should have heard the strength of the Polish on band 2 this morning! You should have done. But you didn't! I didn't. None of us did! Well, maybe somebody in Poland did. One thing I will say though, is the strength of the scatter. THAT at least is up a little. But no tropo. True to form aga...

Re: DX-maps - a prediction

There's a turn-up. Either DK8NE reads this forum, or somebody has contacted him and pointed out the error of his ways. Today marks the first day I have seen him reporting tropo or aircraft scatter, etc. as tropo and not Es.

Re: Tuesday 17th April looks good on Hepburn

Deeply disappointing, and yet another dismal downgrade from one of several organisations who can't predict the nose on the end of their face. (Not Hepburn - whoever he gets the data from.) Tropo. Aurora. Solar activity. Weather forecasting. Total disappointments, the lot of them.

Re: Tuesday 17th April looks good on Hepburn

True to form, I went to the radio room early this morning and switched on the computer, fully intending to listen straight away. I checked emails first. Two hours later I realised I still hadn't run the SDR software, so I clicked on the icon. Then it took me another hour or more before I actually sw...

Re: Radio enthusiast here..

Ah, I remember the days Reggieman. Not sure how far you are going back, but the triple 5s. Sunday mornings on 48m listening to European Music Radio, Blue Sky Airways, Apollo, and EMR, etc. Radio Jackie on 1325 MW used to make it to Nottinghamshire.

Good to have you in the group! :)

Re: DX-maps - a prediction

This is getting irritating for me too. I thought DK8NE in particular would have got the modes correct by now, but obviously not and I don't expect this will change in a hurry either. I would like to give JT8 a go myself for Es, *if* I could only get my SB2000 interface to talk to to my IC7000. It ju...
