Re: 107.5 Mystery US News in English via Perseids

They would need to be using some power if that was the case. A few miliwatts would need a generous meteor burst to propagate. My guess is an i-trip playing a YouTube video. Have you ever watched the next video after playing something of your choosing? It's quite a random choice and you never know wh...

Re: tentative WCFR rewind 106.5 1480

No problem with that part of the ID at all.

Hopefully you can find the call letters. But if not, you might be able to match that ID from their web stream:

Fingers crossed!

Re: Perseids Peak 13th/14th August 2018

Just started going through my overnight files. Plenty of regular pings and longer bursts in the first 20 minutes. I am yet to find anything spectacular, but here is a lucky ID from a low powered German station, Radio SA from Fichtelberg. https://youtu.be/otCEK_mH9AA I won't have time to check any mo...

Re: Boston Pirates

Mix 96 loud and proud yesterday evening (Saturday) on 96.0 while I was in Boston. This was at 8pm local time. Nice audio too, even though it was rather heavily compressed.

Nothing from Caroline 87.9.

Re: SDR File Alalyser "Encountered an impoper argument"

Suddenly, File Analyser is working again on all files. Again, I changed nothing. I was actually testing this while chatting to Nick G on the phone. I was trying different files and they were coming up with the same error message. Suddenly, one file started being analysed. Then all the others did. Wo...

Re: 107.5 Mystery US News in English via Perseids

It has to be an i-trip.

As for hearing US programming here, you might remember some very similar reception I had shortly after moving here in 2010, Tim.

oh my, i never realised how many of these things there were near John sns-gas-ops-map.jpg https://www.nesgt.com/blog/2017/04/what-is-life-like-on-an-oil-rig Add around 200 wind turbines to this. There was a newspaper article which stated that there could be as many as 9500 wind turbines off the coa...

Re: Perseids Peak 13th/14th August 2018

I can't remember where I read this, but the 14th was given as the peak by one source. Other sources said the 13th, hence me mentioning 13th/14th.

Still nothing much happening here.

Re: 107.5 Mystery US News in English via Perseids

It's such an unlikely thing to be re-broadcast on anything, considering the programme content is from several months ago. I can't see it being TA, but there's no AFN on 107.5 in in Europe.

Oh well. A mystery which will probably remain a mystery. Thanks anyway Tim.

Re: Perseids Peak 13th/14th August 2018

Hi Tim.

It's not been particularly eventful so far. I didn't even bother recording last night.

The peak is expected to be tomorrow (Monday) into Tuesday, so let's hope for a good one.

SDR File Alalyser "Encountered an impoper argument"

I recorded overnight for meteor scatter. This morning, when running SDR Radio's File Analyser to look at the overnight recordings, all I got was an error message saying "Encountered an impoper argument". So all recordings are lost? This is the first time I have seen this error. I ran the FDM-S2 "Wav...

Thanks Nick and Tim.

I was beaming in my favourite meteor scatter direction - north-east and vertical.
