Re: Geminids meteor shower imminent

A quick update. Not seeing the same kind of strengths and frequency of MS activity this evening as I did around the sunrise period this morning. Perhaps it's just a temporary lull. Or maybe things won't lift up again until sunrise, but there were LOTS of bursts on this morning's files. Hoping for a ...

Re: Geminids meteor shower imminent

A good improvement in meteor scatter overnight. Very regular pings and with decent strengths. One or two slightly longer bursts. Could bode well for the next 24 hours.

Good DX!

Better Conditions?

Surprised to hear WWKB 1520 coming in well at 0900. This is LATE DX for the east coast. Carrier still visible past 11:30. Although conditions are far from great, I have noticed a very regular and decent signal from CKAC 730 over the last few mornings. This is one of the strongest and most consistent...

Re: WMBD - 08/12 - 1470

Thanks for this. I don't have WMBD in my Skegness log, so I eagerly went to 1470 to look for it. There were two stations here. I ID'd XEAI on 1469.995 at 0600. The second audio was at 1470.004 - probably WLAM.

Who is leaving MW at the end of this year?

I know there are supposed to be a few local BBC transmitters leaving the air at the end of this year, I say "supposed to be going" as I half expect another stay of execution. But who else is leaving? I understand that the Houdeng tx of RTBF Vivacite is leaving 1125 at the end of December. What about...

Re: Video Demo - Tuning MW, noise, etc.

Interesting to read your comparison, Simon. Thanks for this. Weird how WJR has been so elusive here this season, while other DXers have heard it well. "The Newark station" on 1430 is WNSW. The offset is about right, but I don't know if they drift like that. I get the "wobblers". I think it's old age...

Re: 1450 0746 03.12.2017

Yes, it's probably not helpful, but 1450 is one of those frequencies which doesn't often reveal any other North American than WWPG. WWPG carry Fox News too. CFAB Windsor ON and WVOM Rockland ME are sometimes heard in the UK, but this and 1340 are probably the least productive of all the graveyard ch...

OK Simon. An interesting one though.

Just about to start tackling this morning's files. Hope it's a good one.
