Re: Medium Wave Alert

It's Asia which will be be of greater interest to me. Of course, Good News Radio may receive yet another stay of executio...

Re: UNID NA 1380: Solved! WWMI St Petersburg FL

You're welcome.

It's probably 100% certain that you had WWMI. I understand about the lack of ID. If there isn't enough other evidence, then it's best to mark as tentative or presumed, but there's extremely little doubt in this case.

Medium Wave Alert

Conditions on MW have recovered substantially here. Plenty of Korean, Taiwanese and Japanese time signals heard, some with audio and IDs too.

Hopefully North America will follow suit overnight.

Good DX!

Re: Possible tropo over the weekend

A lot of Germans here too, but only from the nearer parts of Germany which I already receive under scatter. Nothing exotic so far.

Re: UNID NA 1380: Solved! WWMI St Petersburg FL

I have the vaguest of audio around 0237 if you would like me to upload for comparison. There is some noise at that time here but you can hear the OM for a while. Let me know Simon.

Re: UNID NA 1380: Solved! WWMI St Petersburg FL

Thanks to David Hamilton's DX tip, I spotted an ID at 0600, but it was very weak. The ID is that of "13-80 The Biz" in St Petersburg.

Thanks David!

Re: dx tip 14/11

Thanks David. It's WWMI. I can just hear 1380 The Biz on the hour at 0600. I can post a recording as necessary but I'd rather not. The "13-80" part is difficult to drag out of the noise and required many repeated plays to time it just right so the BFO phase error is not apparent at just the right mo...

Re: SkywavesDX links are blocked on Facebook/Messenger!

The bottom line is, that Facebook are a law unto themselves. Contacting any global company these days is a waste of time. Just expect the worst every now and again. I HATE big companies with a passion. We probably also need to consider that this is a free service, but a very controlling one too. We ...

Hi David.

I wonder if this is the mystery North American I just reported on 1380?

UNID NA 1380: Solved! WWMI St Petersburg FL

As pickings are far from rich at the moment, unless you access somebody else's receiver, though **** knows why you would want to to that, apart from checking for parallel broadcasts.) I am reporting an unusual North American talker on 1380 from this morning. I hear commercials and talk on an offset ...

Re: A few unids from my DX collection

Wow! Nice signal on the Oriental station. With that kind of strength I suspect you must have had the 1,000 kW transmitter, but I am not 100% sure and that is no basis for IDing the station. You probably have CHIN in your 1540 recording. They carry ethnic programming and I can hear South Asian music....

Everything was on a fade then. Sports talk comes up from 02:30 on WRED's offset.

Wales (Often at equal levels with Spain!) 882 is a HUGE pest here too. I also struggle to hear WCBS and anything on 880.

https://youtu.be/L9SLjXN2FNo As the comments say in the YT video: "Comparing recordings. I have no idea if the man is saying WGIG in the first part of the recording It's a station I have received before here but not so far this year. I then flip to the lower offset for WHKZ. I don't think there's an...

Re: 1440 unids

Male, but it was difficult to tell. You can see three very brief peaks from WHKZ (on the left) and during the fades I hear the stations near to the centre of the frequency. I hovered the mouse over WGIG offset (I'm sure I can hear the ID - I will grab a recording in a minute.) 1440 0500 13-11-18.jpg

Re: 1440 unids

I have quite a pile=up on 1440 at that time. WHKZ Warren OH is dominating, but there are two stations underneath. I suspect the i-Heart ID belongs to WGIG Brunswick GA.
