Unidentified 1290

First heard at 23:49. https://app.box.com/s/twbvzfrprkcoahqi7bzypslrlwx4o8gb That flute sound starts at exactly 23:49:13. Then heard in short, very weak bursts throughout the night. The only other speech heard was at 02:36. https://app.box.com/s/2jnu6twt780wx762rueb572bgmobsvxf The speech starts at ...

Re: Korner 9.2 from Antennenland - in stock

Glad you are pleased with the initial results René. The change from my Triax FM5 to my 9.2 was also quite a revelation. Here's hoping you find many ore pleasing aspects of this excellent antenna.

Re: 1590 - 06:00

Yes, there were some great signals. This is just to add that I have never known a season like this one for stations constantly peaking mid-song and fading out at the ends.

I can't make that one out easily. Sounds like "AFR News" to my ears.

1280 WNAM Neenah-Menasha WI Promoting DXing!

http://www.1280wnam.com/2019/02/11/dxing-reports/

I would have submitted my recording from this morning, but their signal only peaked mid-song - throughout the entire morning! Bastard's Law!

Re: Weird RDSspy behaviour

It's the same here. At the moment, I am able to run RDS Spy without running VAC. A few years ago, somebody explained how this was possible but I cannot remember. The wonders of Windows!

Re: STANAG on 1624 and 1680 kHz?

Oh THAT thing. That used to block 1680. That's bad news if it's wiping out short waves now too. You know what, let's feck the rules. Let's all set up up pirate radio stations. Better still, let's hi-jack bbc frequencies. The authorities like breaking the rules for their own purposes. Let's stick up ...

Is it just me?

Maybe it's an age thing, or maybe I am just super-depressed because it's Valentine's Day and I have just told my supposed girlfriend where to get off, but I wanted to share my thoughts on this dire state of radio affairs I find myself in. All I did was tune to 103.4 and turn the antenna through 180 ...

A new PITA 107.2 Great Driffield Radio

Yet another outlet playing the same dozy, depressing drivel.

107.2 C04F Gt_Driff

This is way too good a signal for the distance. Have they cranked up the power?

Yes I know it's Valentine's Day. F*** off!

Re: Tropo Wed 13th Feb

Well, there was a surprise. As I pressed the send button on my last message, I just heard an ID for Great Driffield Radio on 107.2. Never even heard of it! Unfortunately (for me) the appearance of Percy Sludge's When A Man Loves A Woman forced me to reach for the off switch. Maybe I will do a remix ...

Re: Tropo Wed 13th Feb

It can't read any higher here as the 'needle' doesn't go any further. Continentals have virtually disappeared. I know some of you are envious of my continental reception, but there's no need to be. What you are reporting as DX are my daily regulars, many of which reach RDS levels. Lille, Egem, etc. ...

I disagree Tim. Just waved goodbye to my tentative/occasional other half. Told her where to go. Mind you, don't need condoms now.

Re: Tropo Wed 13th Feb

UK is huge. Tacolneston is bending the needle, so to speak. BBC everywhere below 94.5. The very top of the band is UK locals.

Re: Tropo Wed 13th Feb

Disappointing!

UK tropo still apparent. Some German activity with 104.9 Antenna Niedersachsen, Aurich, producing full RDS. That's the strongest German station. A few others exist, but it's all regular stuff.
