Re: 1470 daytimer signing off

Looks like this may be WBTX Broadway-Timberville VA. I think that's the call I am hearing at 1:02. Entering WPBS, as I initially thought I'd heard, into Topaz, only brings up WBTX.

WBTX have a web stream, so I will try to remember to record their closedown announcements later..

Re: 1470 daytimer signing off

Thanks Simon. I'll put this one over to RealDX. I can't imagine I am the only person who received this. David?

1470 daytimer signing off

1470.0011 at 23:30. Seems to be a music station, but with OM web address and possible advert mentioning radio and TV. Or was this an ID? The tone in the man's voice suggests it might be a religious broadcaster, but that is speculation. Do I hear a mention of "Redbacks" and "radio" in there, plus I t...

Jim - Turkey was like that for me. It In fact, so was double hop. It took years of trying, then I landed a BIG opening to Turkey after a double-hop drought for five years I think it was. It *will* happen.

Re: Skywaves Chat

Wow! A resurrection of an old thread. Thanks for your input prc320. Things have moved on since 2015. We have been using Google Hangouts for a time and then moved to Discord when we understood that Hangouts were to be closed. Not sure if Hangouts did actually close, but Discord is the app we are curr...

Tim, that rotator would rotate a bus if you were to stick one on the mast.

Re: Mini Beverage Problems

That sounds good to me and I think you are spot on. There was a lot of signal from the wanted stuff. No noise at all apart from thunder storm static. Perfect really. As you know, I am a firm believer in Bodgitt & Scarper technology. Sometimes the 'correct' procedure works. Sometimes it doesn't. It's...

Re: Mini Beverage Problems

Back to Beverages this weekend at my girlfriend's and two evenings spent recording Asia, on a BOG the first night then raising it on to temporary electric fence posts the second. The wire was 410 ft (125 metres) long. There wasn't a lot of time to experiment, so I just recorded from my Perseus and a...

Again, interesting! There were a good few Latins around here.

North America was very poor and will probably remain so for a few more days after the blow-out we had earlier in the week. It lasted a long time.

Re: Unid Spanish 1470

Interesting. Thanks for listening Simon. I hear Spanish, but it's tricky to say the least. My hope, as always, is that somebody else had this and got the ID. It had Spanish talk for the 20 minutes or so I received it, so not the Egypt Lake station in Florida Barry was suggesting on RealDX. They have...

An ID on 1469.9941 at 02:00 this morning.

This recording begins at exactly 01:59:45. The jingle and ID began at 02:00:10.

At first I thought I heard "Mexico" but then I also hear "W". Too early in the morning for Mexico I think.

1400 Interesting Overnight

I often refer to 1400 as an 'indicator frequency' when starting to check files. This morning revealed two new carriers. Both produced audio but they were too weak to get any real handle on anything. Here's how the frequency looked: 1399.9666 - Unid. 1399.9941 - WOND 1399.9976 - Unid 1400.0016 - Harb...

Re: radio san fernando 1470

05:08 is now possible here. I *think* I hear the ID but it's very tricky. Radio Felicidad was dominant. Thanks for posting the recording Dave. It's given me something to listen to as my overnight recording failed today. My computer is long overdue for a re-wipe and Windows reinstallation. As long as...

Re: radio san fernando 1470

It's not Radio Felicidad. I have it too, peaking around the same time as David, but it's too weak. An OM talking. This was on 9956. Felicidad is still on 9996. There was another station which popped up briefly before 04:00 on 9936. I think this one was Spanish, but initially it sounded Portuguese. T...

Re: 2019 Es Season winding down

I chose not to partake in this year's Es season as I was concentrating hard on other things. But as I was still sat at the computer most of the time, I did try to monitor whenever possible and managed to make recordings of DX on these dates: May 25th HRV HNG SRB June 18th HRV SRB June 19th D POL Jul...
