Re: Three Spanish IDs on 1490

Thanks to Mauricio Molano Sanchez at RealDX for spotting the ID. He says at 12 sec. "en la Emisora Punto 5, en los 14-90 de la AM..." I just couldn't hear this, even after several plays., but eventually I realised that the frequency part of the ID comes in at 12 seconds. The ID part is well down in ...

Re: Conditions (What conditions?)

I thought KQAQ would have been too good to be true. Thank you for the update Simon/Andrew. I didn't know WZAN had changed format.

The offset was also different to that of WZAN's given in Jaguar.

Re: Conditions (What conditions?)

English country music station on 969.9986. IDs there but I can't make them out. I presume this is WZAN but I didn't know they played country music if so.

Sounds like a barrage of weak "La Voz ... " IDs on 1380 at 02:49. Offset 1379.9959.

Re: Conditions (What conditions?)

Can't find much info on WOKB. Their website is unhelpful. Topaz has then as black gospel. No indications of any other languages such as Creole.

I have three IDs on 1490 which I will post to the unids section now.

Re: Conditions (What conditions?)

Nice signals from R Formula 1470 around sunrise. On the strength of this I wonder if there are other Mexicans around.

Re: Conditions (What conditions?)

Shhh! ( ;) ) That's great to get TA so early. The indices have had a gentle nudge and it seems to have set something off. As for me being a northerner, well, more like an easterner or a midlander is more appropriate. Lincolnshire used to be regarded as 'east' but is classified as the Midlands these ...

Re: Conditions (What conditions?)

Did I receive KZQZ on 1430 between 22:15 and 22:42 with golden oldies and sung KZQZ jingles? Did I?

Surely that wasn't a clear KXEL ID at 23:00 on 1540?

Could have sworn I heard Greenland on 650. Or maybe I was imagining it.

1420 WOC booming in at 23:00? Surely not?

Conditions (What conditions?)

I could say that conditions may be improving on MW at the moment. (But I won't.)

Not saying that there are some good signals from North America coming through nice and early this evening. (I wouldn't dare!)

So maybe not worth recording tonight. (Or is it?)

Re: UNID at 1510

No question. "Monumental" at 24 seconds (06:00:29 on Jaguar display).

The pips at the end are from Radio Naval, Guayaquil, so two Ecuadorians on 1510 at the same time! :)

Re: DX Tip: 920 WDMC Melbourne FL

Clearly there, John. In fact I'm surprised you missed the ID for c!luk!tup-AM, Olympus Mons, Mars just after it. Ah yes. CFCT Tuktoyaktuk NT. That's in here 24-7. A pest no less! ;) If only. (Please tell me you are not joking, lol.) Nice for KSRM to fade out just at the right moment too. Than...

Re: DX Tip: 920 WDMC Melbourne FL

Now I think about it, this recording is the DX equivalent of Where's Wally !!! My GF has bought me a Where's Wally advent calendar. I've had more trouble finding the date on this thing, then I have to find Wally's dog's tail or a key which is so small you need a microscope to find it. Can anybody sp...

DX Tip: 920 WDMC Melbourne FL

https://app.box.com/s/rotvvyasjpanohnk4dg8a5tww8sick6d Blink and you'll miss it. (What's the hearing equivalent of blinking?) You'll also need headphones and a good imagination, lol. PATHETIC! Conditions are still very quiet and should be very good (in theory) but are still rubbish and getting worse...

Re: Alaska Now!

If you're getting music (oldies) on 680 in the middle of the evening, there's little doubt that you've got KBRW. CFTR and WRKO are talkers. The language you sometimes hear on KBRW will be Eskimo. Reminiscing again, I remember how CFTR was a rarity back in the 80s. Worth checking 850 for KICY and 123...

Re: Conditions picking up?

Note that I deliberately used a question mark in my post title. Two things I would like to add to this. 1. The Solar applet, as used in Jaguar, has rarely dropped into the green this season. It has NOT ONCE, as far as I have seen, dropped below a value of 300. Still quiet, but not as quiet as in the...
