Re: GEORGIA received in S.E. England on 16 June 2020

David, I suspect when we both had Iran in May 2016 that was also a UK first. Certainly I don't know of any other occasion this has happened.

Stunning David! Congratulations from me too.

One question though. The recording you've posted is labelled as "93000kHz" or 93.0 MHz. I presume it was actually 95.1?

Re: Sweden

Swedish txes heard here last night & this morning were Bäckefors (1203 km), Hörby (1115 km), and Skövde (1252 km). The latter on 88.9 was actually some of the better reception as 88.9 is a clearer channel here.

Plus stacks and stacks of stations from Germany, Denmark, France, Belgium and UK!

Re: Tropo within UK

Very good conditions to Germany and the Netherlands this morning. Lots of decent strength signals. Best DX was Delta Radio on 93.4 from Hamburg, which is 63 watts at 809 km.

Best distance was Schwerin, at 905 km.

Re: 8/9/20 Tropo UK to BEL/HOL

Hi Dave. I logged Brocken, Inselsberg and Chemnitz last night amongst other German, Belgian and French logs. France was very good last night and this morning with quite a lot of lower-powered verticals from Normandy and Brittany heard, some with RDS.

For someone who says that tropo doesn't really happen there, those are superb logs over land!

Voice FM Southampton 103.9 - power increase?

Does anyone know if this station has had a power increase recently? I noticed yesterday that it is now at fully quieting mono/blended stereo levels. Previously it was so weak and buried in the noise it was barely detectable. I don't see anything on their website that suggests anything has changed.

Re: New TV Tower in ISTANBUL - Turkey

Finally the new tower will start within the next weeks. Tests have been carried out this month on many frequencies after midnight. Only even frequencies will be used (e.g. 90.0, 90.2, 90.4 etc.). A new station will be Kiss FM on 91.6. Some existing stations may disappear as they may not be able to ...

So it might be Malawi.

UNID Portugal 87.7

Hi all. This was received on August 11th during an opening that was mainly to Morocco and Algeria. It's Portuguese talk, and it didn't match Antena 1's stream: https://app.box.com/s/nci5dgs4u5betdmdpju1vufbsmsr5kbp There are two other Portuguese listed, Rádio Voz da Raia and Rádio Onda Livre. Howeve...

Re: Tropo > NE, E, SE and S

A few minutes before midnight I heard something on 95.6 peaking east playing blues & rock. I presumed it was Classic 21 from Liège. After the song ended though, the ID was given. It wasn't Classic 21 at all, but BR FM from the Isle of Sheppey in Kent! This is a first time log here, and a real surpri...

Re: Two UNID Spaniards 107.9

Thanks PFM907, but the info says '100% Hits Musicales', so I doubt if it's them. Other reception was coming from Galicia and Portugal at the time so it may be from Galicia, which is further west.

Two UNID Spaniards 107.9

This was recorded during Es to Spain & Portugal on 29th of July: https://app.box.com/s/p20y36uu6gy7tis3lo96mpftjqel5b67 There is a station right at the beginning that gives an ID, but I can't see anything similar-looking on FMLIST. There is a second station which takes over after a short while and c...

Heathrow reached 37.8C or exactly 100F. This just as a peak of a 2-day wonder shows how much impact climate change is having.

I predict a 40C+ before this decade is out.

Re: UNID UK

Probably BBC Radio Guernsey from Les Touillets. The accent sounds like SW England and that station joins other stations in that region (e.g. Cornwall, Devon, Somerset) in the evenings.
