Re: New Community Station In London

Maritime Radio is just about making it in here this morning due to a tropo enhancement. It's very weak though and I have to use 56 kHz bandwidth to minimise splatter from semi-local Eagle Radio on 96.4. It's playing Pink Floyd tracks with long periods of silence between. Edit: it's the same Pink Flo...

Re: Winradio excalibur sigma 64mhz recording £6200/

Well, yes, but that was only because I came in to a bit of money.

I didn't realise Winradio made such high-end expensive products. I seem to remember they got regularly reviewed in their early days in Shortwave Magazine, and I got the impression that Winradio was affordable back then.

Re: My new DSP portable is on the way

OK thanks Peter. The R-108 looked like it had exactly the same layout as the XHData, but if the XHData has RDS then it looks like it's worth a go.

Does the Tecsun you chose have RDS?

Re: My new DSP portable is on the way

Isn't the Radiowow R-108 a rebadged XHData? That's what it appeared to be on investigating. If it's cheaper than the XHData...

Re: My new DSP portable is on the way

OK I'll play. I'd probably go for the Radiowow R-108. It looks like a re-badged XHDATA D-808 but looks cheaper. If so, then the FM reception should be very good. It looks like it has an AM bandwidth button which should be good for MW DX. I'm tempted to get one myself for taking away with me on holid...

Re: 29/3/19 lift condx

Tropo has been minimal here too, with just a bit of an enhancement on the cross-Channel regulars over the last couple of days. Certainly nothing to get excited about.

Re: Holland slowly fading back in 2103 utc

Looking at my logs for 27.6.18 I had several Danish signals in with RDS in the morning before going to work. That doesn't happen often here.

Re: French Autoroute received on 107.7, 25-06-15

I've never received an Autoroute station via Es but I did receive Normandie Trafic on 107.7 via tropo late last year:

The tx site is either Falaise or Argentan.

Re: UNID Arabic on 89.9 via SpE - 03/06/2017

Given the religious content I'd have to go for Radio Zitouna FM from Sfax.

Were there other Tunisians coming in at the time? Looking at my logs for 3.6.17 there was a big north African opening here in the late afternoon/early evening with Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya heard.

^That sounds just like the Libyan religious station. If that really is E-skip then that is amazingly early tease for the 2019 season!

Re: Tropo>Spain

Nor did I Dave. I only had the tuner on because Mad Radio DXer had alerted me on Friday evening about the new Winchester Radio community station on 94.7 and I wanted to see how strong it was and whether it would affect my reception of Lille. If it hadn't been for that it wouldn't have been on yester...

Yep. Full RDS beaming south here at 35 dBμV. Thankfully it's completely nulled out beaming at 100 deg towards Lille, so Bleu Nord is coming in unaffected.

Tim, I think it's Sunday evenings that YLE Yksi has a minimal/experimental electronic music programme. I've heard some interesting music on there in the past.
