Re: Luxembourg effect - the ultimate example

Here, in Châteauroux, 50 kms away from Allouis, I can only "hear" a perfect blank carrier with a 9 + 40 dB signal.
I suppose this is normal ...

KGA Spokane 1510 or not ?

Hi everyone, I was glad having caught something at last from the west coast on 10/10/17 . But now I have serious doubts. No ID just mentions of Fox Sports Radio and ESPN In your opinion, could that be KGA or something else ? https://youtu.be/iCKP-ZC9Upo https://youtu.be/ZRvLJa3wIE8 Thanks in advance

MW DXing at high noon : RAI uno 657 KHz

A big surprise yesterday around 1200 UTC when the MW band is supposed to be dead. Rai Uno, Pisa Cortana 657 KHz coming in loud and clear just like a local station for about one hour. The rest of the band was dead, apart from high static level from distant thunderstorms. It would be interesting to se...

Re: tropo coming

Unfortunately Nick, all the frequencies you mention are occupied by local stations
Have you tried 107.7 ? That's our motorway radio service, very low power stations.
That could be challenging !

Re: tropo coming

Hi Nick !
I am quite close to Argenton-sur-Creuse.
But BBC 3 on 91.3 was the one and only UK station I could receive on a clear frequency.
The band is completely jammed with stations from all parts of France.

Re: 11m via F2

Yes, definitely F2 conditions on 11 and 10 meters. Also heard Brazil, Argentina and Chile with fair signals a few days ago. But nothing at all from North America.

Re: MW TA Frequencies to start with?

Hi Andy I am a beginner too and I can just tell you that TA DXing is never easy. However, from my limited experience ,the easiest frequencies (or the least difficult !) are the ones where no European stations interfere. 1380, 1390, 1400 are relatively quiet, and of course the X band from 1610 to 170...

Hi everyone,

I also caught this station on Wed 17 Feb around 0630 UTC but never heard them ever since.
Seems I was lucky to get that in central France only on a Wellbrook loop ;)

Hello from central France

Hi everyone ! Just found your forum, so after reading some interesting posts, I thought it might be a good idea to join ;) I'm mostly interested in MW DXing at the present time but also SWLing in general. 73s Jean-Luc F5SPP ( but no longer active on the ham bands ) _ QTH : Châteauroux, central Franc...
