Re: Libya 677 kHz

Usually Qatar - checked when they had a findable web stream. And I've just reminded myself, also checked on Hotbird 12654 H before my dish decided to take a holiday next door. The Saudi/Riyadhs can also be heard on a Greek SDR with moderate audio delay between the two of them, and mostly underneath ...

Re: Libya 677 kHz

Since their reappearance a couple of years ago they have been seen at 675, 677 and 677.5 as steady frequencies, ie not drifting between those steps. Are those choices explainable as mistypes on a keypad?

Interesting! Vesti FM runs as normal throughout with its distinctive stings.

Is that news in English getting looped? So one of the UK stations, assuming you receive those?

Re: 1395 kHz – LPAM non-stop music NL without any ID

I wonder who they are Assuming you are listening live why not check the web streams for the 1395 LPAM stations to get a match? They are listed and mostly web linked here: http://radio-tv-nederland.nl/am/am.html You won't find Atlantis there though. That one closed a while back and morphed into Seab...

Re: Who is leaving MW at the end of this year?

The "maybe until 2019" got updated in September when the mast received an OK for extended life. So it's now:
"Groot Nieuws Radio blijft tot 1 januari 2019 uitzenden via de middengolf"
"Groot Nieuws Radio will remain on MW until 1 January 2019"

Re: Who is leaving MW at the end of this year?

Sorry to tell you "bad" news John: 1008 got an extension to 2019.

621 appears to be staying until the southern Belgium's DAB installs are complete.

Re: Africa

Geo-storm time again so a brief scan this evening of frequencies offering a potential southern flavour: 1440 African language heard under Riyadh, fair at times. So probably the Nigerian again. I don't hear it as well as this under "normal" geo conditions. 891 Portugal Rádio Sim is stronger than usua...

1206 Italian is Amica Veneta, still showing previous 594 on their website. And of course KAN Bet gets through too sometimes.

Looks like Brookmans Park after a check on some remote receivers.

Funny name for a transmitter site if you ask me.

Paradise FM is the ID I've heard on past occasions. From the German-speaking corner of Belgium.

Re: 1206 - Any idea what this is ?

Have you got an example(s) of the music played please Simon? Listening to your sample before reading the other responses I was hearing African French. At 21 sec it sounds like "radio du capitole" and this is also heard at 5 sec. But that name doesn't raise any useful links. The Italian unlicensed Am...

Re: 1305 Interval signal & possible anthem underneath Spain 1900.

Those chimes obliged at 1300 UTC today. Several mentions of Xinchang (not Xinjiang) before they come up at 41 sec. As far as I can tell it's not CNR2 output but MWList does show a Xinchang for 1305 and it's in a good location for the SW Japan receiver I used. Anyway that's just for the fun of trying...

Re: 1305 Interval signal & possible anthem underneath Spain 1900.

Thanks John and you are of course right to say that Egypt's own Westminster chimes could be heard there. But no, this keyboard version had Chinese talk either side of it. Heard to oversufficiency during the last few days and now that I want a recording of them can I hear those chimes? No of course I...

Re: 1305 Interval signal & possible anthem underneath Spain 1900.

Finally grabbed some Korean language on 1305kHz through a regional receiver. So I'm not claiming a DX special here. It's just a follow up on John's rare catch. At 1900 at least 2 Chinese stations are dominant on the frequency so no Korean heard at that time across several days. But at around 1545 to...

Re: 1305 Interval signal & possible anthem underneath Spain 1900.

Cadence of the South Korea national anthem heard there John. It always reminds me of the equally pleasant and stirring Welsh song Ar Hyd y Nos.

KBS1 and 3 are noted by MWList as "24 hours" but I'm confident that the pre-transmission 1kHz tone easily heard at 20:50 on 1134 was from Hwaseong.

Re: 918 kHz. since Slovenia left

Maybe an early warning for your own receivers regarding this evening's signals: many Asians heard well on the Arctic Norway remote receiver just now. So Cambodia 918 again. It's due back at 2200UTC, not 2230 as given at MWlist. Also Taiwan on 1143 but not Japan 1134. Chinese but not Taiwan on 1557. ...

The other one...

Cambodia with chanting shortly after their 2200 sign-on this evening and heard under Spain on the U Twente remote receiver. At 18sec I switched to the south China receiver to compare the more strongly received signal.

1350 - full of potential

While Italian "I Am Radio" is on reduced power 1350 has again become a promising frequency for loitering with intent while pointing oneself in an easterly direction. A few years ago, before that station invented itself, I logged Tongliao in Mongolian and one of the Jiangli stations. On Friday I thou...
