Re: New Warsaw station (lpfm)

Hey Tim. It's nothing new. The signal you picked is Radio Jutrzenka ("The Dawning Star"),or full name: Polskie Radio Armii Krajowej Jutrzenka (Polish Army Radiostation Jutrzenka) - thus Radio AK in the PS. Contrary to what the name may suggest, the station does belong neither to our national broadca...

Re: Warsaw bandscan

Really Tim, such disapointment? It's 21h30 local time and 1521 China is comming booming in here (i'm only 30kms away from Warsaw's centre). (just heard time beeps in the background of CRI - what the ...?) Yup, it would be a start of a brand new era of MW DXing in Poland if Romania one day closed dow...

Re: unknown propagation 8/8/17

Well, an airplane flying low won't produce long range Asc reflection. My furtherst happened when a big aircraft was 11000 above ground. Airplanes in your line of sight can of course boost signals you constantly receive weaker. It must have been ionospheric. Airscatter at such distances will not happ...

A jingle with frequency 100,2 in some place of a name ending with "-ence".
"(...)ence sur cent point deux".
="(...)ence sur 100,2"

A relay of 100,2 // 90,0?

Re: unknown propagation 8/8/17

I'm afraid, without more reception results at the same time (maybe other frequencies from the same tx or neighbouring ones), the tx cannot be determined here. Valencia in Tirol? That is like 1100kms! It was not AS for sure, which reaches up to 900kms with extreme hi-gain antenna (Konrad managed it, ...

Re: *** AURORA - NOW! ***

Even music will do.

Now two things - if the audio is distorted and always noisy - it might have been plain Aurora.
If the audio is clear, audible and not distorted - Au-Sporadic E may be the cause.

@Nick Do you have a recording of that 89,3? I can check for you if this was any station from Poland or the region.

Re: Observations by POL FM DXer

Thanks, that's a very noble thing you do, Tim.

One more compilation I recorded in London in 2015: Pirate's IDs
-please note most of them saying they are an online radiostation, totally oblivious or contrary to being pirates.

This is how BBC R.Scotland 94.3 was (and still is) coming in in Poland via Aurora:

Re: Observations by POL FM DXer

Now on to the main dish:) When going for a trip to London in 2015 I was excited to be able to receive some of the pirates. I lived in Walthamstow, near the tube/rail station and every evening almost all stations from TransmissionZero list were up! I was amazed :) Here is the compilation of my record...

Re: 01 Sept 2017 - double hop reception

Clearly, there is only one signal. But... modulated with two feeds at a time - main, which is the loudest and second - slightly delayed, in the background. Probably some kind of problem with the transmitter, which often happens to RR in the OIRT band. Please note, that audio levels difference of bot...

Observations by POL FM DXer

Hi everyone, My name is Maciek (Emel), I'm a long time FM-DXer and blogger from Poland. Wanted to share the results of my scans when I was in London in 2015. But before that - on couple occasions throughout the years I was able to receive some of London pirates via Sporadic-E (ionospheric propagatio...

Re: BORNHOLM DX

Hi and thanks. It indeed is a good question. I think it is a regional thing, probably connected to a prevailing western air masses circulation. My base QTH is central Poland, near Warsaw - flat lowlands and the "tropo directivity" applies here as well. It was not so long ago when I finally received ...

Re: BORNHOLM DX

I was on the island with my Sony XDR tuner and dipole antenna in September 2015, in Svaneke on the eastern coast. It was slightly disappontting that almost no tropo enhancement was present then, so for me Bornholm turned out to be The Kingdom of Scatters. Nowhere else have I observed such conditions...

Re: Unidentified 92.9

Hello again, Thank you all! I knew I can rely on your help and i think we solved the riddle. The recording matches R4 (relaying WS at the time), and it must have been Pontop Pike TX - the transmitter received also by Konrad earlier that day (and actually lasting two more days at his location). This ...

Unidentified 92.9

Hello everybody, I hope all of you had nice time first days of October and picked many distant stations. Man, that was THE tropo! I sure received many signals one of them being this one: http://www71.zippyshare.com/v/3JotnKXL/file.html I heard this in central Poland with my 6-el Yagi pointing northw...

Re: Unidentified Polish station from October 2nd's tropo

Happy to help in my very first post here. As native Polish I can state that: 92,0 is clearly German. a radio-play ofc. and WDR5 is the only fitting candidate here 96,6 doesn't seem to be Polish. Although there is only a glimpse of speech in the recording, I can tell it seems to have a German accent....
