Re: Raw Innocence 87.5

Tropo is doing wonders for the signal the past couple of mornings. This is the best I've had so far:

BBC Radio 2 88.8 hums

Apologies if this information is out there already, I tried searching for this, but the keywords are too common so it won't search :/ There is a distant Radio 2 transmitter on 88.8 and on my SDR it always has a hum in the background. Is this known about and which transmitter is it? I have narrowed i...

Re: The Beauty of Macros in Word Processing

Yeah, ++ has tabs and macros. I haven't really got into macros yet but I might need to combine them with the RegEx at some point.

Re: Shortening Elad FDM-S2 Files for quicker uploading

Well, I think this might be a problem with IQ Files not really being standardised. I can play back your files but I have to adjust the filenames so that they contain the start time and center frequency, because that is how SDR# knows those things. This indicates that your software might add an addit...

Re: The Beauty of Macros in Word Processing

The TextPad forum has a whole section dedicated to using RegEx within TextPad - https://www.textpad.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=14 I don't use TextPad myself, so I'm not familiar with how you access the function, but it will most likely be from the find/search/replace function. Otherwise, Notepad++ i...

Re: Recording from Finland SpyServer

Both 92 and 94.5 are running tonight. No muisc, just RDS. 94.5's RDS is very odd. Also: https://i.imgur.com/cydOmI5.png https://i.imgur.com/WoQaIi4.png The RDS are both listing a lot of PI's in the EON section here. 94.5 has 6053 in the list, but 92 doesn't appear to have the PI for 94.5 in it's list.

Re: The Beauty of Macros in Word Processing

A regular expression (RegEx) is like an advanced version of a 'wildcard'. A common wildcard is using an asterix (*) to say to windows search that you are looking for a file but you don't know how the filename starts. You do know that a certain string of characters (for example 'hello') are in the fi...

Re: Shortening Elad FDM-S2 Files for quicker uploading

If you look for Airspy, SDR# is part of the software package that can be downloaded for free from the download section. Then, it's as simple as opening your IQ file and making sure it plays back correctly, before setting it going and waiting for the moment when you need to hit record. I'll d/l your ...

Re: The Beauty of Macros in Word Processing

Have you ever considered using regular expressions? It's a bit of a learning curve but I use them in work a lot to do horrible repetative tasks such as taking long lists of document codes that have been split into their constituent parts across many spreadsheet cells, removing the tabs that appear w...

Re: Recording from Finland SpyServer

It's weird that it keeps changing things, when I first discovered it the RDS was simply "rds" with PI of 1234. I wonder if the owner of the SpyServer is actually the person behind the transmission, because the signal is quite strong on the SDR. It could just be a very low powered transmitter close b...

Re: Shortening Elad FDM-S2 Files for quicker uploading

Have you tried playing the file back and recording a new file simultaniously at the point where the burst happens? I know this can be done in SDR#, but no idea if it will work in your software.

Recording from Finland SpyServer

Here's a recording (IF file, same as an IQ file but only for the IF, using the Russian IF recorder plugin for SDR#) from a Finnish SpyServer - sdr://188.67.83.235:5000 A station on 91.9, just setting up their transmitter. No idea if it's legal or pirate. The amount of mucking about with modulation l...
