Re: Tuesday 17th April looks good on Hepburn

Nothing from nothing here as well. BTW, I need your advice on some 'supposed' AS receptions : for 2 or 3 days, I've been catching, by stealth (5 seconds max), north italian stations in a range of 150-350 km . I first thought it was aircraft scatter, but there's actually no clear fade in / out with t...

Re: Wide band interference

Your "worst part of the band" is much cleaner than mine !!! I actually have a single USB cable, the one from the desktop to the SDR and it's a double-shielded one. I tried another one with 2 'built-in' ferrites : no improvement. I also put a ferrite clip on the PSU and the monitor cable, no effect. ...

Re: Downloading FMList Lists

I just downloaded the latest FMList files and the SpE range is indeed 1099-2254 ... (the previous one from Feb, 3rd was the same) The "Tropo" files range is 1-1554 km and 26-1847 for the "Meteor" one. No idea on how to restore the previous 700-2700 range. In case you're able to fix this, please let ...

Re: Downloading FMList Lists

Hi Dave,

I recently downloaded FMList datas (Sporadic, Tropo and Meteor lists) for CSVUserList and it worked like a charm.

Wide band interference

Hi there ! Does anyone know what can generate this kind on interference ? Those verticale lines are visible, at least, from 70 to 160 MHz ... (maybe below / above, my antennas are pretty deaf out of this range). I can make them slightly less visible by rotating the dipole / Yagi but as I live in an ...

Re: Lime Mini FM test

Has anyone ran an A/B test RSP1A vs HF+ on FM ? The latter is very sensitive (compared to the ELAD S2 at least), but the 660 kHz maximum BW is sometimes a limiting factor (as well as for MW DX'ing)

Hi Tim !

No such issue here running SDR# v1645 and HF+ with 1.6.2 firmware. OS is W10.

Re: For demanding FM DX'er ... (18 bits ADC SDR)

Hi Zach ! I don't find the sound to be tiny, especially when running Studio 1 software. It offers superior audio quality compared with SDR# or SDR Console. You shoud give SDRuno a try (same product but with limited features if not used along with a a RSP). BTW, I own quality headphones (Beyerdynamic...

Re: For demanding FM DX'er ... (18 bits ADC SDR)

I found the 'R3' mode quite effective on the NDB band, and even more on LF/VLF of course. From what I know, there's no need to perform the mod with the most recent batches (done from factory), but ask to be sure it's OK. The recent firmware updates also improved the HF+ performance (HF only, not VHF...

Airpsy HF+ and CSVUserList

The Airspy HF+ proves to be a FM DX machine, despite it "only" offers 660k maximum BW. Yesterday, I installed and set up CSV User List (easy and quick operation), and I can tell it's a great combo ! Here is a short clip showing them at work (actually just a quick overview of what it looks like) : ht...

Re: XHData D-808

It is slightly less sensitive compared with the PL-380 (at least the one I own). Slightly less selective as well. Sounds like the DSP is more "agressive". When tuned to a weak station close to a louder one, one has to fine tune / detune by 10 20 or 30k for the signal to become audible and to lock on...

Re: For demanding FM DX'er ... (18 bits ADC SDR)

Just received my HF+ too :-)
First test on the french paraglading beacons (143.9875 - 1W) to test sensitivity : the noise level reading is about -137dBm running the HF+ and -117dBm running the ELAD S2 (using the same coax of course).

Did you notice the same 20 dBm discrepancy ?

In this video, Leif runs Windows 7 I guess (but from what I read, it should be OK with W8 and 10).
