Re: The Conditions Thread

Good TA signals again this morning, although they seem the same as yesterday.

I checked some of yesterday's recordings & logged some personal firsts.

Re: The Conditions Thread

Africa seems enhanced this evening. I am seeing a carrier on 840 kHz, most likely Eritrea. Also 891 kHz briefly heard African music before Portugal - Radio Sim - dominated again.

Re: The Conditions Thread

Easterly propagation again enhanced tonight. Just heard 1377 kHz CNR1 with time pips.

Edit: Reception of CNR1 here...

https://youtu.be/Iqc5LeJ8joI

I have just checked my SDR recording & could hear Asian time pips on 1566 kHz (most likely HLAZ) @ 1700 hrs UTC along with two other stations.

Re: The Conditions Thread

Earlier in the car I am sure I heard CNR1 on 1377 kHz. It was very weak but could just about hear a Chinese language spoken. This would not surprise me as last night Iran was very enhanced. 1188 kHz was very strong like a local. Tonight is also looking good for easterly propagation.

Re: The Conditions Thread

Hope you get it sorted soon John.

Last night had made some personal firsts from USA & Canada. Going to record the band again tonight.

Right now, Nigeria with strong reception on 1440 kHz

Re: The Conditions Thread

Eastern propagation this evening. India 1071 kHz & China 1521 kHz with fair signals. Yesterday & day before Africa 917 kHz Nigeria & 1440 kHz also presumed Nigeria were heard quite well.

Re: 1395 kHz – LPAM non-stop music NL without any ID

No no, what I said was I did receive a station with English news as well as the Dutch station playing their usual Polka on the same frequency. I am fully aware Energy would not play something of the sort.

Re: 1395 kHz – LPAM non-stop music NL without any ID

That explains why there was news in English at the top of the hour when I was listening to this frequency. Station or stations from Netherlands also heard at my QTH playing the usual polka.

Spain & MW: my view

Given that I see European DXers complain about Spain being so dominant on the MW band, & somebody else here saying why is it still such a popular band to the Spanish, I thought I would give my two cents since I have lived there. Anyone from Spain that disagrees with me then I will be happy to hear y...

Re: E Skip Alert 28/12/17

So yep, somebody's FM transmitter, I receive these faily often on the road though. However, there were Es about on 87.7 before this so there you...
