Re: dx tip 8/12

Thanks for the tips, David. Nothing here. Interesting about WEGP. I've noticed that each season seems to bring a different "dominant" station on the band, with signals that are nearly always higher than other stations. In recent years CHIN, WWKB and WFME have taken the honours for a season or so, bu...

Re: 1611 kHz UK Free Radio Station

Yes. A couple of days ago, Chrisopher Ratzer in Austria (who I believe has posted on here) put a log on mwlist of a Philippines station on 1611. As nothing much was happening I checked my recordings and could hear something about the right time, but it soon became obvious it wasn't the Philippines. ...

Re: i am an idiot

Stuart, I don't think that you have a call on you recording it sounds to me like ".... to you every night". The first word sounds like Capital, but that doesn't make sense. And the audio level is fine !

Re: i am an idiot

David, there are lots of free file recovery tools out there. I have recovered SDR files that I have deleted in the past. So long as you haven't done much on the drive since it should be possible. Puran File Recovery worked for me. Simon

Re: 1470 - 0500 sign off

I think you are probably right from the offset, but I can't hear anything clear and yours is better than mine !

I wonder why it is signing off at midnight their time. You have a youtube vid with it on later than that in 2017.

Unfortunately all I have is a weak Latin station from 0645 - 0720. Too weak to ID.

Re: 1470 - 0500 sign off

I do indeed - sorry John. I didn't hear audio after 0500 and the carrier disappeared as you say at 05:03:54. Unfortunately, I couldn't even ID the language.

1470 - 0500 sign off

Anybody know what the station is that signs off at 0500 on 1470 ? I've seen the carrier go quite frequently, but today I go audio with soft music and a possible slogan or ID by OM at 04:53. It was too muffled here, though. There was some more talk at 0459 The last audio that I had was just before 05...

Re: 900 kHz from EU (I suppose !)

Good spot on the French channel . I think that I have had one of the Long Wave stations around here before. It was there again last night. It's only really worth me checking during the silence in the RAI pips. Last night it was Village People one hour, Queen another. Just spotted at 0500 last night,...

Re: 900 kHz from EU (I suppose !)

Patrick, It was audible here in South Wales, but much weaker than your signal. RAI was dominant and there was a middle eastern station (Saudi or Iran?), but Tina Turner was in the mix. Presumably the same station briefly go stronger than RAI at 0500 with Dire Straits, no id or announcement and strai...

Thanks Matthias. I was really fooled there. I hear the "Jomhuriye" now, but at the time for some reason it sounded Chinese to me !

585 - China

Despite the useful link from John, I still need some help !

Do I hear Zhongguo during the Spanish pips ? And do the late pips or tune help ?

1098 - Chinese

Is there anything in here that identifies the station ? It was over 1600z on 1098 and I was expecting a ts and clear ID, but the music played over the toh. Not very experienced with the far east stations - they don't usually make it through the UK and European stuff to me. I think that the station t...

Thanks for the tip David. I've never heard this one before, but the CRI tune is clear at 1600 despite the best attempts of the Romanians.

John,

As you've been advised on RealDX it is probably Farsi. On my recordings the same woman is talking at 16:30 with a a mention of Radio Kermanshah.

Yes. I got the country music on 840, but no speech at all.

The CFRY id that I caught was at 06:39 if it helps
