Re: Dutch Mega-Tropo

Been getting some Dutch DAB reception here in London - Oost-Noord NL on 6B has been constant for several hours. Also the Norfolk mux on 10B is a good signal as is the Cambridge Minimux on 7D. This is my list of DAB Multiplexes that I normally receive. 5A 174.928 5B 176.640 5C 178.352 5D 180.064 6A 1...

Re: A load of bollocks

I'm sorry to hear of your problems John, I know how you feel as I have been in the same situation. The two things that cured my depression was that I discovered how wonderful it is to have animals around you. Having animals to look after means that you concentrate on them rather than yourself and yo...

Re: B2 Es About 28-05

It's a waste of time here in London because of the pirates, so I just stayed around the bottom of the band. Apart from a few Italian stations the best was Croatia on 87.7 v s HRV HRT-HR 1 C201 HRT-HR 1 Lička Plješivica (gs) 1390km. Audio - https://we.tl/dC7hWyNZZ5 The new full-wave loop helped, but ...

Re: Ofcom have been busy in London

A correction to my first post ("103.2 Insanity Radio off air (probably interfering with LGR on 103.3")

Insanity Radio 103.2 is not a pirate and is not off air, it is in fact a legal Community station in Egham.

Re: Ofcom have been busy in London

Hi Nick, the station that I get on 90.4 that I thought was Studio 7, turns out to be Whoa FM. I've just been able to get a positive id. Apparently Whoa FM play Urban Music, but to be honest I wouldn't know the difference between that and Drum & Bass. If it is of any help in id,ing your station, Whoa...

Re: Ofcom have been busy in London

Hi Nick, I can just about hear Kane (checked it with their stream) but it's mixing with something else, it could be Funky SX from Southend as my aerials favour this direction rather than Guildford... the frequency is a bit of a mess here so there may also be a weak pirate on the channel. I believe P...

Ofcom have been busy in London

Ofcom have been busy recently and on Saturday here in London, it looks like they have removed some of the pirates: 91.8 Demradyo is missing 95.1 Origin UK is missing (it was on Saturday so Ofcom are working on Sundays!!!!) 96.1 S-Dance is missing 96.4 Surprise Radio ? (if that's what it was, is miss...

Re: Hurry up OIRT !

seems to me like there is not much going on today, again...that`s 14 days without any ES activity here between 65,75 and 74 MHz I have had my 70 MHz Anytone AT-588 on in scan mode for the past 3 days. It's a good indicator of any OIRT Es openings but I've not heard a peep out of it, not even any Am...

Martha was the one with the beret and the glasses. She spent her final earthly moments in the Rovers Return. But what was the name of Minnie Caldwell's cat? No looking it up! I have to admit that I don't remember Minnie Caldwell's pussy, but I bet you had to look it up. I do though remember M...

I remember having to move the rabbit ears aerial around to get the best picture whenever we changed channel to ITV... I'm sure that you remember things like this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VeUyOVk_wI4

Re: Want to make my own TV station for an experiment

Well I suspect that that aerial is next to useless, they love quoting aerial gain in dBi to make it look better. The reference is the dipole so the gain should be quoted in dBd, therefore you subtract 2.1dB from the quoted 5 dBi gain and you get 2.9 dBd gain... whenever you see an aerial quoted in d...

I could not get the amp to do anything. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWxp5HASd-Q My RF modulator works but signal is very weak still. Wish there is more help might have to just stick to using really low power for now. :( I doubt that the output from the RF modulator would be anywhere near enough...

Re: Hi from North London

Digital Spy has been good to us, feeding a few members to us over the years. I'm looking forward to Pat Phelan coming back into it. I mean, poor Eileen. Oooh! It's all happening on the Street! John, the last time I watched Coronation Street, it was in monochrome and on 405 lines Tv on Ch9 from the ...

Ben Toney of the 1960's Radio London dies

Ben Toney was the programme controller of the 1960's offshore radio station Radio London, or Big L as it was more fondly known as to it's listeners. This American gentleman changed British radio forever and we thank him for that. Here is a segment from the Keith Skues show recorded on Sunday, this e...

Re: DAB Tropo: London early hours of 21/05/18

Same here on the 22/05/18, I am getting the Norfolk mux on 10B full scale here in North London at 02:00 local. Rx is a Yamaha T-D500 and a vertical dipole. Good lift on the 2 mtr Amateur Band as well, I expect it will all disappear though as soon as the Sun rises and kills off the temperature invers...
